Three weeks ago my o5 6-speed was admitted to the GM hospital with a broke rear end...Well still no SSr due to the dealer telling me GM has changed suppliers and the case and internal parts I need are not available. He tell me they are using the right part numbers but the wrong parts are being put in the right boxes and they keep sending them the incorrect parts. I need and welcome any advise that may help me get my truck back. They say we order the correct part numbers and the boxes we receive show the correct numbers but the parts inside are not the right ones...

I can't be of much help to you, but I guess GM gets what they pay for.
I can't say for sure but it sounds like . I'm thinking they are ordering parts for the torsen rear used in the automatic equipped SSR. You need parts for the 14 bolt 9.5" rear like is used in the Yukon etc. Wouldn't hurt to check...
At 30 days GM buys you a new Truck or gives you your money back. Call the BBB and start the claim process. I think the BBB numbers are even listed in the manual somewhere. Thats what I would do and have done before.

Thanks to all for the comments...I have already told them that I will start the GM Buy Back on the 31st day...Can you give me any advice on best way to do that. I really can't beleive we are going thru this for a simple everyday type part.
I also think the dealership could be BSing me on this.

There are a couple of htreads out there that are on this topic. That said, document everything, start a case with GM, start a case with the BBB, check you local lemon law rules, and copy the dealer on your correspondence as well.
Every State's info is available here. just click on "site map" at the bottom of this page.
Guys, thanks for checking back in with me on this. The web address was very helpful. To give you an update. Still no vehicle and no contact with the dealership. I did call and open a case with GM. I gave them until Weds to return the vehicle reparied with an extended warranty or buy it back. The vehicle has been in three times for a total of 34 days for the same problem. Even if I get the vehicle back on weds there is no assurance that it will be repaired.
I will keep you informed on this...The real issue is I really would like to keep the SSR but now I am getting "gun shy" that will be the case with every little part I will need for this vehicle. I welcome any comments
Just e mail me at the below address and I will help where I can with the buy back process. Yours seems to be an open and shut case IMO. It makes me wonder if GM isn't finally doing a re design to the drive shaft and rear end to rid the tink and other gremlins. This is the ONLY excuse that could be REMOTELY acceptable in this situation.
Try calling another dealer(just for the record). See what they can offer.
I did that yesterday...was told and I quote.."Sounds like a Buxx Shixx story to me"
Pretty much says it all. He also said the dealership I am dealing with is a joke when it comes to parts and service.
He also related that GM just bought back a full sized pick-up due to a bad set of tires being changed out two times and still no fixed. He said the three sizes the tire manufactuer listed for this truck are all bad and GM plain refused to allow a different brand of tire to be substitued...so they bought it back./ He could not believe what he saw. Also said that GM buys back tons every week.
In most states it WILL qualify you for a buy back. Do This Call GMs 800 and start a file claim number and tell the person that you are filing with the BBB. Hey if enough people tell them that the light bulb is going to have to come on sooner or later at GM. When the BBB starts contacting there claim center with tons of buy back requests someones claim just might awaken the sleeping giant. Also call the local BBB and ask them to open an arb claim. I can't imagine what GM is thinking. I had a Ford Explorer buy back for a paint issue so no issue is to small. Of course when I went throgh the automatic car wash and 1/3 of the new trucks paint came off it was quite silly looking indeed. True story.
I bought my SSr from a used car lot. I was only 1.5 years from the showroom and had 8000 miles on it. It is still under waranty. Most of what I read idicates the purchase of a "new" vehicle. I would assume that it would cover any vehicle covered under waranty. How about it? Does anyone know if this "buy back" covers used vehicles?
Well, contacted GM and explained the problem...was given a case number and PROMISED I would receive a call from a "case Manager" in one business day. Well, this was on Friday morning and here it is Tues aft and no call. I guess they were just joking about getting a callback...Yea that's it just joking. Well 31 days tomorrow and no call from the dealership so onward we go on the buyback trail....Incidently we have no BBB in my town so i guess I will call one 125 miles away just so I can follow procedure. Any suggestions are welcomed...
My SSR: '05 Concept Truck, powered by Heavy Duty rubberbands, and a really BIG WINDUP KEY!
Sounds like you have some real issues with your truck.
I would be calling them everyday, twice a day maybe. Ask to talk to their boss, send a note to the local news media, and tell them your problem. Go in to the dealership where you bought it, and complain loudly on a Saturday afternoon. Go to the dealership on Monday, Tuesday, Wenesday.. etc. and ask to talk to the owner.
Contact a lawyer. Contact several lawyers. Call GM everday. Call them right after you read this message. Call them as soon as they open the following day.
Document everything. Document everyone you talk to. Document times, dates, names, direct phone numbers, Document everything.

Picked up the SSR from the GM hospital after a 33 day stay...NOT FIXED..No change in the vibration issue that stared this whole issue. Still no contact from GM and the BBB did contact GM but not me directly.... next move is an attorney at their (GM's) expense. Tn Lemon Law clearly states winnner does not pay any legal fees incurred. I have tried to be understanding and calm..but that is about to end.
