About a month ago I had 4.10 gears installed in my 05 SSR with LS2 and Auto trans, I purchased a Diablo Predator programmer after being reassured by Diablo that they could correct my speedometer with a Custom tune from them, evidently that works on 05 GTOs and Corvettes but they are having trouble correcting the speedos on the 05 SSRs. The Tech Guys at Diablo said what would really speed up the solution is if someone near them with an 05 auto SSR would allow them to test it at their shop for about a day to find a solution. I would let them use mine no problem but I live in Oregon and Diablo's Tech Center is in DelRay Beach, FL.If any of you live near there and are willing, please contact Mike in the Tech Dept at
800 531-5484, this would be a big help to several of us now and many more in the future, Thanks, TMZSSR
Since I already have $400 invested in the Diablo Programmer and like the features that do work on it, I don't want to spend more money for a Custom Tune from another company unless I have to. Also, I live in Oregon, which is nowhere near Wester's location.

I live in west Delray and have called that number 5 times got nothing but on hold over 10 mins each time? But I didn't think 410 gears had a problem thought it was only the 456 gears like mine? I had superchips and made good changes but speedo was way off, got tired of thier run around, so I spent another $500.00 on the HPTUNNER that can do so much more in the right hands, and Iam in the process of getting it done....I heard Mike was cool guy but I was never able to get in touch with him...
Wester does his tunes "remotely", so you do NOT need to be near his location. He also handls the speedometer correction on the 05/06 SSRs, which seems to be such a challenge for the microtuner manufacturers.
Another optuion is tuning software like HP Tuner or EFI Live. Tuning software can handle the speedomter correction AND make much more detaiuled and much more customized changes than a microtuner can, BUT requires a skuilled tuner and a dynamometer to use properly.
Owners of 03 and 04 SSRs will NOT have the speedometer correction problems that the 05/06 SSR owners do. The difference is due to the different computer technologies used on the 05/06 SSRs versus the 03/04 SSRs.
I have called Mike@Diablo several times and it almost always takes about 14-15 minutes on hold until the Tech Dept answers, so please give it another try, they do answer every time, you just have to wait until they are finished with the call they are working on, Thanks, Tim

My SSR: 6 Speed Ricochet Silver, MagnaCharger, Katzkin Leather Interior, 4.10:1 American Gears, True Duals
Wester's
I just got around to installing the ECM I received from Wester's. Everything went like "clock work". Only issue I had was driving for a few miles with the "check engine" light on until I got to the Trans~Medic shop in Windham, NH. The shop that normally does my work for me did not have the latest "CAN Software" to calibrate the ECM to the engine.
The speedometer correction for the 4.10 gears is "right on" and all looks great. I also had other parameters changed like the Rev & Speed limits and new timing profiles for 89/93 octane gas - etc. All is "Golden".
It was interesting to find out that the owner of the transmission shop also owns a 2003 Black SSR and he was not aware of our web-site. Well I took care of that - I'm hoping that we see Andy (Costa) here in the near future. After meeting him and his son's I discovered that they are the same team that did work on a couple of transmissions for me at another location - I would Highly recommend Trans~Medic to anyone in need of their services.
I'm A Very Happy-Camper, Chick

That's great news Dan, I bet you're relieved to have your SSR back (and fixed)...
If you caught any of my other messages posted here you probable know that I now have the dreaded "Can't Open My Door From The Inside" problem. I'm heading up to one of the local Chevy shops tomorrow morning with a copy of the TSB so they can order the parts for me.
Talk to you soon... Chick
