Smile SSR Service Dealer Locator

Based on another thread earlier today it seems like there is a need for a list of service dealers that are SSR friendly.

It seems as our SSRs get harder to work on due to lack of parts and experience with our rides some Chevy dealers just don't want to deal with us, or they are hack'n and scratch'n as they try to educate themselves on how to work on our babies.

So... what I think would be good is if you have a dealer or independent repair shop that is SSR friendly (i.e. knows our rides and knows how much as cherish our trucks) then list them here. Also, you're encouraged to talk to the service manager and if they are willing to put forth some commitment to servicing SSR's let them know you'll post them as a SSR Fanatic Service Center.

This way you'll know who in your geographic area is ready and prepared to work on your SSR. I know myself, my local dealer in Wilkes-Barre is "ok" but I know they cringe when I talk to them about my SSR. If I had a big problem, I'd be more than willing to travel some distance to go someplace good and reliable.

Chime in with your suggestions, experiences and recommendations! Be sure to list their whereabouts and a contact if they have one.

Sounds like a great idea. In Houston, I've had good luck Lone Star Chevrolet out on Hwy 290. Service Advisor I worked with was Mike Sanchez. I had several intermittent problems with my truck. It took two trips and the better part of a week each trip, but they finally isolated and fixed the problems. Kept the truck inside at night as well. Impressively clean shop.

GREAT IDEA, BluDragon

Here in Tucson I have had great luck (although very limited, THANKFULLY) with . . .

Sam Miller @ WATSON CHEVROLET

also, Manny, The Finance Manager, was very helpful with the HMO (aka: GMPP) for DOOPHUS, even matching the lowest price and arranging the special 0% financing.

I love my dealer and they do great work for me, but I've been standing there while the service writer was on the phone with another SSR owner and after getting off the phone, he told me that they will never do work on that guys SSR ever again.

So I know that "attitude" from both the customer and dealership affects the outcome of service.

I therefore can't recommend my dealer eventhough I won't go to someone else

Excellent point, WOW!

Having worked in Sales and Customer Service (not vehicle related) for years, I am fully aware of the fact that Good Service vs Bad Service originates from the customer's side in many cases!
