Can anyone help me out.....I went to start my SSR this am and got nothing. The battery is fine. Did not even get a click. Lights and dash lit up, just no start. Any idea where/what to check???

Shift Lever??
The shift lever must be in Park or Neutral for a start. Perhaps your switch on the console is out of a lignment. Try moving the lever into Neutral and attempt a start.
That's my input for the mornng. Perhaps Wingrider or one of the other GM service specialists on the forum will chime in......
Good Luck...... and..... oh, yeah..... Welcome to the forum, I noticed this is your first post. Sorry it had to be on a trouble call.
Welcome to the family, I hope you get it fixed easily.

Are you sure the battery is fine?? Just because the lights light, doesn't mean the battery is OK. If the battery is OK, ignition switch has been known to cause all kinds of problems on the SSR.

Just thought of something else you can try to help verify battery. With the lights on attempt to start and see if the lights dim significantly. If they do, suspect the battery.
First of all, did this just happen after sitting for the winter or just start after working fine the day before? Any more background would be helpful!
First the obvious question... do you have your foot on the brake peddle when you go to start it? Make sure you do! It won't start unless it's down. I know... an obvious thing, but after working with people on computers so long, it's amazing how many computers don't run when not plugged in! :-)
Also, you may want to try unhooking the battery and letting the car sit for a bit then hook it back up again. Like a computer, it will reboot the system... not sure if it would work, but it would be my next try.
More info will help some of the more SSR techies here... but it could be your ignition switch... you may want to search the forum on this issue for more information and try that too if all else fails.
Good luck!
P.S. Tell us more about you and your SSR too! Welcome to the group!
I've been driving the truck for the past several weeks. The battery was fully charged. When I turn the ignition swith, the dash lights up and does it start routine, but I get abslolutely nothing when I turn the ignition. Not even a click to know the starter is engaging. It appears as no power is going to startet.

Thanks so much.
You should be able to move it from Park if you depress the brake. If that doesn't work, it may be the ignition switch module..... P/N of the switch is........ 15242754
You might also be in some sort of a funky computer mode...
You could try disconnecting the battery for 5-10 minutes and then reconnect to try it again. Be sure to roll down your windows first, as they will not index down with the battery disconnected and you will have a hard time with the window seals.....

Tried all the solutions and still nothing. Put into neutral, nothing. Put back into Park, still nothing. Not even a click to the starter. I'm lost. I guess it must be the ignition switch??? any other thoughts?
Thanks again
Check your Battery the easy way, if you are not privy to a DVOM or Amp meter. Just honk your horn for about 5 sec's if it sounds weak or no sound The Batt. is needing Cable cleaning or Chargeing. If the Horn sounds Chrisp and loud then I would suspect the Switch.
just from the basic info that you have posted I would lean toward the ignition switch but I would also check to make sure you have power at the starter on both the power cable and on the "S" post while the key is turned to the start position. If you have power at both post then you need a starter if no power at the "s" post then I would look at the Ignition "A" fuse in the under hood fuse box (fuse 46 a large 40 amp fuse) then check the starter relay (#43) in the fuse box, if all these check out ok then go for the igntion switch

I have a 2005 and this problem has happened 2 times since new... The first time with the original owner... He called GM Service explained the problem... They advised to check the terminl in the RED JUMPER BOX on the passenger side of the engine compartment....
I purchased this truck about 3 weeks ago and everything was fine.. About 2 weeks after the purchase the exact same problem came up... Everything was functioning but would not start... Engine would not turn over ... No clicks or any sort of noise indicating the attempt to engage the starter..... Called the first owner and he told me about his incident and the GM advise in the above paragraph...... The following morning I went and gave it another try same crap NO START.... so I hook up my big old battery charger. Pushed the button on the charger to the START position jumped in the SSR and it kicked right off.... That was a week ago and no problem since....
I took apart the terminal in the JUMP box and made sure that they were clean and tight.
