SSR's with over 30,000 miles or 24 months

I recently found out that at this level of wear and tear on the SSR, you are suppose to have the radiator flushed out and refilled.

I will be going to my Chevy Dealership tomorrow to have this done, since they have neglected to have a drain attachment on our radiators.

Sounds like they're trying ot get some more of your moth eaten money there Micheal. Better put you boots on when you go to the dealer.

The new (years old by now) "Sierra" coolant (orange) is designed to go 5yrs/ 100K miles. It's still good to check it once in a while for propper degree protection. Other than that it should be good for quite a while.

I'll see what they tell me when I take mine in for a Mobil one oil change this morning.

Actually, there is a clever and very nice radiator drain incorporated into our radiators. The lower mounting "post" on the RIGHT side of the radiator doubles as the drain tube and there is a petcock valve directly above this point on the radiator tank. The coolant drains out of the absolute lowest point on the radiator and does not flow / dribble all over the lower structure of the vehicle.

Another helpful hint from a friendly Fanatic. One of those things that you only learn from friends.
