I've said it once and I'll say it again. This is a MUST-HAVE upgrade to your SSR.
Don't get it and when your driving lights are on, you look like a dork as your lights are dancing up and down at highway speeds, plus it irks the oncoming drivers as they are being blinded by the dancing light-balls.
The rears will keep the flapping down at highway speeds as well and you can also wash and wax without crunching the rear quarter panels and it also evens up your rear bumper.
Yours is uneven!
Just look down at it from above and see how one tailpipe seems to be sticking out further than the other. this will always aggravate the true fanatic.
Good Luck. BTW, I'll help install for a beer as well...

Jeeeeeezzzzzz Rebel....they're cheaper than that on GMParts Direct. I paid less than $500 for mine at a local dealer. I'm talking about the bed cover, is that the item??

My Billet Grille from e-bay came and it doesn't fit in the lower opening of the fascia! The billet unit is too tall to insert into the opening. I called the company and didn't get much help because it turns out that they are actually a company based in China and the folks over here in Pomona, CA sound like I accidentally called China. I was told that their technical support person only speaks Cantonese.
I finally got the lower billet grille to fit by un-attaching the Stabilissr from the lower edge of the front fascia, and firmly pushing the billet grille into the lower opening (it actually sticks out a bit more than the middle grille, but who's complaining at this point?). I had to use screws with 3/8" toggle nuts to attach the grilles since I also have Mike in AZ's auxiliary fan on the front of the radiator which prevents my hand from reaching behind the existing honeycomb grille. I then was able to easily re-attach the front Stabilissr.

Good Morning....Bob!
I too had some problems with the grill fitting but do not have the Stabilissr's installed on my SSR. That is one of the next things I plan to add.
I had to "push" the assembly into place and then bolt one side down (part way), and then do the other side. It seemed like I could just keep tightening it down and pushing the grill to conform until finally it was tight on both sides. It doesn't "fit like a glove" but I am satisfied. Something had to be done to dress up the black "honeycomb" plastic and this does it for me because I allowed the bars to remain red rather than covering them.
I have micro cracks in my bumper due to flexing but I have no idea how I would prove to the dealer this is due to the bumper flexing. I'm sure they would say I hit something. Texster68, I have sent you a PM.

I have gotten several notes like the one above recently. It seems that our SSR's are collectively getting to an age where damage from the poorly supported front and rear bumper is starting to show up. As long as you keep it in the garage and never exceed 30MPH, you shouldn't have any problems. Otherwise, the StabiliSSR is a good precaution against long term damage.
We have been pretty low key on selling the StabiliSSR because they are a lot of work to make and it's pretty much a break even service business for us. We will continue to make as many as demanded, but expect a price increase in the summer if volumes go up.
The product is available in our Ebay store, just search StabiliSSR. We have gotten too busy lately to do any special discounts or direct sales, but I'll still do the installation for free just for the fun of meeting other fanatics.
If you visit our store, you will also see some additional products that we are working on. Based on our experience with the SSR product, we actively looked for additional opportunities on other vehicles. We have developed a line of aftermarket fixes for HVAC blend door problems. We are doing a very good business on Jeep and Ford products that are susceptible to the failure. Just like the SSR, the dealer fix entails complete removal of the dash and heater box to replace the cheap plastic doors. We have developed(and patented) a process to cut into the box with a Dremel tool and replace the components with steel doors. Following the StabiliSSR model of finding a design flaw and engineering a robust solution may turn into a real business.
We are actively expanding our HeaterTreater product line and working to go beyond Ebay into the volume repair outlets. I noted with interest the recent posts on blend door problems with the SSR. We don't have any Chevrolet products at this point because the basic HVAC engineering is significantly better than Ford and Chrysler. However, the basic concepts are the same and we could very well find the same problems at a lower frequency on Chevrolet. We will put the SSR on the development list, but it's pretty far down for now(unless mine breaks, then it jumps immediately to number one). If this becomes a common SSR problem, we can and will apply our technology to developing a solution.
Sorry for rambling. The StabiliSSR is on Ebay and we will continue to produce as long as there is a demand.
Texster68, I visited your ebay store this morning and again this evening and there were no front StabiliSSR's for sale. Will they be in stock soon? Best, Ray

I have had these on the front of my SSR since day one. This is a very clean little fix for the loose fascia that all of the SSRs have. It will eliminate the bounce in your foglights. I can always tell when I'm caravanning ahead of someone who needs this kit. You all know what I mean.
This is an easy installation that is definitely a "Must Have" on your "R".
Mike
Mike. I just completed the install on mine and cannot believe how flexible GM left those corners.
I'd recommend you get both the front and rear, as my '05 was showing more signs of flex fatigue in the rear than in the front, which I would not have imagined until I crawled under for the installation. Plus, it cured the "hops" my fogs had up front.
As Mike said, another "must have" that should have been in the manufacture. Chris is great to deal with and is available for any install questions, although his instructions and pics are very thorough.

Are these needed on the 06 models? Or is my old brain fogging up as I seem to remember that this was addressed in the 2006 changes. I have a 61 Morgan with large wing fenders and they do flex and fracture crack over time so I am concerned.

Yes, you need them for '06. Chevy didn't change anything to stiffen them up.
