Exclamation Terrible sound? Help

I have had my SSR in the Chevy Dealer for five days with a laundry list:R/R door
fix both sides, tighten front fog lamp bezels, put foam insulator in front firewall?
suppose to quite engine noise, volt meter R/R pegged at 16V, new ring and pinion
gears and bearings, serpentine belt squelch fix, loose wheel caps fix,Have some
intermitent rattles in dash, would'nt make noise when test drove with S/Mgr?!

I Truly want to give these guys double thumbs up for their professional attitude
and sincere dedication to the task and I shall, however, when I picked it up
this afternoon,as I drove off and got on it to see if the belt would squelch,it didn't
but one hellevua a slapping sound, like a strap was banging on the under carriage? At first I thought the engine was backfireing?! Any thoughts Guys?!

I left my SSR at the service department and they gave me a car to drive home
very apologetic, all techs had gone for the day. Iam sure they will find the culprit
It would be nice to give them a head start?! Hal

Maybe they were in such a hurry to get it back to you, they accidently closed the hood on one of the techs and he was banging to get out?

I love how serious you all are I just got off the phone with the Service Manager,Mike Wilson,Grey Chevrolet,Port Orchard,WA. Mystery solved,He
wasn't very happy,he said to me,Hal I wanted everything to be perfect for you
because I know how fussy you are, however,in our haste to get everything
finished in time, the tech left a piece of wire that he used to hold the drive line
up when they took out the rear end,so the culprit was a piece of wire thank God

If anyone in the local area needs any mechanical work done on their vehicles
IMO,these Guys are super! Thanks Mike WilsonS/MGR and as requested their
best tech!
