top not working

Well I just lost the functionallity of my roof top The service repairman said it was due to my hose being pinched and all my fluid bleeding out. They said it would be awhile as parts are so hard to get for our beautiful beasts. Hopefully it will be here B4 the Laughlin run Will let you all know what happens as it happens.

Chris, same thing happened to mine a while back. The issue is getting the special hydraulic fluid, mine took 8 weeks. It is the same fluid as used by the SAAB convertables and is more readily availbale. Good luck!

Thankx BIG DADDY I have my fingers crossed for getting these repairs done quickly. Hope they can get the parts from one of the other dealers as they think they can. Thankfully it's getting rainy down here in ATL.

Mine occured on the drivers side on the lines that feed the struts for the cover, not the roof lifts. You can check these lines from time to time to be sure they are attached properlyand look for signes of pinching or chafing. If you have a leak, you will smell the fluid when you open the roof storage area.

They said they are waiting for the hose and fluid and that they were contacting other dealers to see if any of them had the parts. I hope it isn't too long a wait as the top down days are getting shorter.

Chris, when you came to Savannah, the hose was rubbing on the top and leaving a rub mark. Good luck getting it fixed. Hope to see you in MV next May.

Thankx Mike but I already got some 3\4 DOT synthetic fluid. Besides what would it cost you to send it to me from the beautiful iles?

It's just money and if it helps another, that's good enough for me.

You are very kind sir, but I'm getting my service peeps to replace the fluid w/ the super DOT 4. But I might come over there and need a ride around the Island in style.

Chris, I've had rub markis in the sail part of the driver's side since day one. Pointed out to service writer it was the ny-wrap holds the hyd line to the dog-leg that was putting the swirl marks on the roof. The line was also cracked where it was flexing. Parts been on order for a month and a half already. If I get to your stage, I may choose to put a barbed tubing splice in and clamp both ends until the replacement comes in, whenever that will be, but, I ain't going topless until then...... I hate when I have to hold my breath..... don't ya just hate the 6 molar suck sound ???? Couldn't hurt to have an escape plan "B", huh. Fingers crossed for ya.
