Traded my 03 in for an 06

I'm sure everyone here will think I need my head examined, but I just traded my '03 SSR (7400 miles) in for a new '06. (Both red)

Now I want to be clear about this. I personally did not find that much difference in the performance, but I've not pushed the '06 very hard. With 19 miles on it, I want to take it easy for the first 500 miles or so. I did notice that the sound at half throttle in the '06 was a little more "tame" ???

The '03 had only 7400 miles on it and was a low option car. The '06 is loaded and is a final production unit. The deal I made was so unbelivable that I just could not pass it up. I've only owned to '03 for 6 weeks or so and it is perfect in every way as far as I can tell.

I wanted the '06 for the following reasons:

Steering effort was less. (I've only got one good arm.)
Frame is supposed to be a little stiffer.
Hood struts instead of prop rod
More options - Cargo compartment goodies, aux. gages, wind brake etc.
Bigger engine
"Final Production Run" unit
Full warranty - for what that's worth

Well anyway that's my rationalization.

I'll continue posting any observations on the differences as I can.

Dick

Enjoy!! I'd get A second one if I could afford it, but don't think I could trade in "Betsy Blue", so we'd just have to be a two SSR family !!

Good for you Dick. I traded an '04 for an '06. Took the hit. But glad I did.

Local dealer has 5 '06s in stock with 2 being final production runs (redline, 2-tone asphalt/richochet)...tried to talk hubby into buying one for himself...no go, he thinks one is enough. Sure would like an '06 but couldn't get rid of the UV even if I wanted to...it seems to be attached at the hip

Yep, "unbelieveable"! that is exactly the way that I described the "deal" that they offered me on my 04 for an '06!

Well most people think modifying a SSR you need your head examined, Others think you need your head examined for buying one in the first place, Break it in the way you are going to drive it
