Have any other of the Ultra Violet people had this problem? For the second time I have had a misty looking spot about 3" in dia. appear in my paint. The first was under warranty on the front of the hood and now the front of the left front fender is doing it. The hood was fixed like I said under warranty but now I am off the GM warranty. I think it is a craftmanship issue and wanted to see if I was the only one or not. In bright light it looks like a haze or fog. Does any one think I have a chance of getting GM to fix it?

If I'm....
not mistaken your warranty is still in affect on reoccurring problems that you are still having with something that was fixed under warranty at the time???? Pressure them about this even if you have to go to area rep. or Gm's 800 customer complaint dept...
Does it appear to be under the clear coat? I have noticed my silver paint is so thin in spots I can see primer through it in some areas if you look hard enough. I just think Lansing just didn't paint the trucks very well or there paint shop was very antiquated. If the base coat is to thin it can start to dry out due to UV exposure and "look foggy" under the clear as you describe. Its no shock to me you live in a "sunny" state and have this problem with the paint on our trucks being as thin as it is.
A friend of mine that paints looked at the first one that appeared and said he thought it was from a repair maybe done at the factory. He said if you use red bondo and don't let it completely dry it will out gas into the paint over a long period of time and cause the type of fog I had in mine. The best way to discribe what it looks like is how a hot cup on a wooden table looks under the varnish but insted of a ring it's a spot.

Well it could be the panels had some sort of blemish in them and they were skim coated with a body filler before they were painted. Are you the original owner? If not it might have been repainted somewhere down the line from hail damage or rock damage. I had a white C4 Corvette once that had a spot right in the middle of the hood that was a brighter white than the rest of the hood but it was clearly under the clear coat. This car was brand new and the body shop at the dealer said it looked like the factory repaired the spot before shipping and the paint didn't match well. It could also be acid rain damage. I have acid rain damage on my rear lid when I purchased the Truck. The Dealer tried buffing it out but it was to deep I think. IM going to make them re clear the lid to fix it. It happens, paint is very delicate.
My 04 has 4, 3" dia spots on the bed cover. They are positioned equally apart and form a rectangle. I assume they are from the device used during production to lift and position the lid during construction.

I have had some paint work done both under and not under warranty. Check with the dealer to see if the problem is in the clear coat or the color. If you want to have it painted by an outside shop I can give you a # of a shop that has matched my truck's color perfectly.

Sounds like crop circles. Did they appear overnight?
