Talking underhood emblem

Emblem looks good. Thanks to Tom. Worth the wait. You screw into the heat shield, not the metal! Nice backing plate. be careful removing the little plastic tabs that hold in the shield. Had to use a large screwdriver, flathead type and wiggled them loose. I did some underhood wiring on my other ride and broke em but these seemed stronger. Worth the price Tom. Install time is just about 14 minutes, give or take. No skill level required really.

I also received one from Tom and I look forward to installing the SSR logo in the near future. The material is very high quality and the workmanship is A+++ and it looks like it will be easy to install. It will surely add a touch of class to the engine compartment!

Thanks again Tom for making those available.

What was that thread?

Which thread was it that we tried to nego. the price for those billet logo? I just can't find it.

I gotta get one for my hood. They look awesome installed

Question? how do I remove white salt deposits left on the underhood insulation after being driven and gotten wet in the rain. Any good suggestions.

I do the same - using a satin black.

Tom, I'll be contacting you when I return from our holiday cruise - need those letters too.

Ray

By the way - drove from Vancouver B.C., down I5, stopped in Eugene, Oregon last night (had a blast trying to find a motel and a restaurant without millions of people waiting - we caught the tailend of the Ducks/Huskies game - definitely got lots of looks.) Today, stayed on I5 through Sacramento, and are stopped in Stockton - heading for Vegas tomorrow.

The score so far is PT Cruiser - about 150, Magnum 2, Crossfire 1, WalMart transport 4587 (well, that's a guess, but a whole lot of them) and 0 SSRs

Ooops - forgot - about 12 minis

Cruz,

I love your plastic emblems for the rear deck lid. How do I get the metal emblems for under the front hood and also how do I get the flaming skull for my 2005 here in Sarasota, FL.

Thanks,

Joe Schuhriemen

You can get the underhood emblems from Tom, (see post above). The plastic ones came from Norva Plastics in Norfolk, VA. They were only $30.00. I put velcro on the back of them to make them stick to the carpet. Got the skull at Garden Ridge. You will have to wait till next holloween for those kinds of things. There will be plenty then. I scooped up everything skull related I could find this holloween for my truck.

Tom,

I am interested in getting a set of metal logos for under the hood. How do I get them and how much are they. I just ordered the plastic ones for the bed area and both of them would look slick on my new 05. Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Joe

In regards to removing the shield for Tom's billet underhood logos, just use a very wide flat head screw driver (I used a 3/4" flat head) and slowly pry up the tabs with a twisting motion. They pop right out. There is a template that you drill into the heat shield that Tom provides you when you order one. Set that up and drill the holes into the heat shield, attach that and then the logos go on the other side with the screws and bolts.

Ed:-)

Thanks Tom, received my Logo today, but will have to wait till after the holidays to install. Family get together for the holidays in the state of Tennessee . It really looks good, quality craftsmanship and looks easy to install as everyone has said.

Much appreciation from a new member, looking forward to more shared information on accessories and get togethers.
