Vibration

OK OWNERS OF 6SPEEDS. I HAVE A ROLLING VIBRATION BETWEEN 60 AND 65 MPH IN 6TH GEAR. ITS LIGHT BUT IT IS THERE. IF I HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL VERY LIGHT I CAN FEEL IT. I CAN SEE THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKE OH SO SLIGHTLY. I CAN ALSO FEEL IT IN THE SEAT. I ONLY NOTICED IT BECAUSE I WAS ON HWY 70 COMING BACK FROM ORVILLE THIS SATERDAY. IT HAD A VERY SMOOTH SUFACE. THE NORMAL HWY I TRAVEL IS ABOUT AS SMOOTH AS A GOFFER FIELD. THE PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS IS THAT WHEN I HAD MY CTS-V IT HAD THE SAME THING BUT IT HAD ALOT MORE VIBRATION. THEY HAD TO CHANGE THE TRASMISSION. I WILL HAVE THE DEALER WERE I WORK LOOK AT IT IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. IF ANYBODY HAS HAD THE SAME THING ID LIKE TO KNOW.THANKS

I have a '06 6 speed. I have a very slight rolling vibration between 70-75. Prior posts suggest a road force balance. I had a road force balance done and it did not go away. The mechanic said it was very difficult to balance and asked me to drive it and let him know if it is better. Like you, it is only noticable on smooth highways and I am debating whether to make an issue of it or not. Ironically, I just replaced my tires on my Lincoln LS with Goodyear RSA's and after two trips for re-balancing, it still vibrates. That car was perfectly balanced prior to the change. I don't mean to hijack this post, and I am sure all tire manufacturers have a certain % of bad tires, but does the Goodyear RSA have a problem?

I had the same problem and two of the four tires had road force number well above the limit (18.) The LF front was replaced. A new RR was installed and it too failed. Another RR is on order. I've been told that my viibes are tire related and it will go away once I get good road balance numbers. So I'm waiting on that last tire. It is no where near as bad now as it was before.

I too noticed while driving back from SC that it was worse on certain road surfaces.

Its more likely a tire issue than the Truck itself. Start with having all 4 tires re balanced and spun for uniformity.

Unfortunately...I've also have seen a rim slightly out of round and one badly out of round....those with continued vibration problems may want to look at this too.
