IT was't the Ignition Switch! But I had an Interesting Weekend!
Last week as I was going down the Interstate, I put the left signal on to change lanes, the warning chimes came on, ABS light, the Parking Brake light and SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING came on. Stopped, turned ignition off, started engine, everything fine. Coming home turned left signal on to change lanes, same warnings and lights.
I thought that I had an ignition switch problem. I changed the switch. Tried the truck out around town, no problems, feeling really good! Today, going down the interstate, left signal to change lanes, same warnings. Stop, switch off, start engine, no problems. I f you stay below 30MPH, no problem, if I go above 35MPH, left turn signal, same warnings.
Fortunately I have GMAC Extended Warranty, but it is $200 deductible, but I also have a light out in the HVAC switch that I was waiting until something else went wrong to fix.
But then I remembered something about one of the members had a problem with the LED Taillight Bulb installation that he had a ABS light come on. I will start Search now , but if anyone has a suggestion, jump in!
Just did a Search, my problem sounds very similar to a couple of LED Installs with the ABS, BRAKE and some with the Traction Control light coming on.
I think my problem is LED related. I will move the left LED bulb to the right side tomorrow and see if that changes anything. I have had the V-LEDS 92 lite bulbs and the LM487 Flasher from LEDLight since 5/27/2010. Installed with no problem. That is why I did not even think about them causing the problem. I automatically thought Ignition Switch! O'Well I needed to change the Ignition switch before Flagstaff anyway.

My view as an electrical engineer - you could spend a LOT of time and money trying to figure this out. I'd think of the $200 as $20/hr for your tome to fix it. You bought the warranty for exactly this reason.
If that doesn't work for you I'd check all the fuses and ensure that there are no shorts in the column harness. Did you have any steering/front end work done recently?

You must be talking about me as when I had my GTO wing wired up for LED as the ABS, BRAKE and Traction Control lights did came on. I took it back the next day and they pulled out the fuses. Which one, I wouldn't know.
I moved the left led bulb to the right tail light, now the chimes and ABS & Parking brake lights and SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM warnings come on when I put the right signal on.
I have sent an e-mail to V-LEDS, not recieved an answer.

HI,
If you have not solved the problem, you might want to try to contact Lonnie at Sinister Kustoms in Plant City, FL. I tried installing those LED lights, then changed the LM487 and still had problems. Lonnie made some phone calls and I am not sure if there was one brand that worked and one that did not, or it was something tricky about the installation.
Having an extended warranty on mine, I can tell you what I did with another electrical problem. I took it in to Chevy where I bought the warranty, they put a computer on it, pulled up several error codes and were able to troubleshoot the problem in minutes.
I posted before you updated with the LED thing - I know from my Jeep life that the LED lights have different current draw and really can mess with the flasher relay & system. I find it curious that the directionals are connected in any way to the ABS lights, but i guess maybe some feedback into the ground of the instrument panel? (I don't have much insight into the SSR electrical system yet.)
I saw some other threads on the LED lights that you may want to investigate into to be sure that the blinker relay and the LED lights are all working happy together - Do you have just the two tail lights as LED or are there others?
The hardest part is usually finding the problem so you're on the right path!
Bill at V-Leds is sending me a replacement bulb under warranty. These guys are a class act and stand behind their product. I think I am going to order the bulbs for the front.
