Convert to the true dual exhaust. Cost that I have seen on the forum is $500-$1,000. I went with flowmaster 50's, cackal is nice, just slightly louder than stock, peppier second gear up, can still enjoy the radio.

If you are going thru the trouble and expense of modifying the exhaust you may as well do the best that you can to reduce backpressure and increase flow. I suggest running true duals off of your cats with a balance tube as close to the front as possible. Muffler selection will be based upon your personal sound preference. You can use the stock tailpipes since they are pretty good or go with some of the big honkin' tips like some others use, again sound quality and appearence are subjective.

Duals

Had pipes cut behind cats and put in dual 50 series mufflers with a H pipe. Left original exhaust tips in place. Nice throaty sound but not loud in the drivers compartment.

Made my choice. For a couple of reasons I don't have the time to go to a shop 2x's. Once to look at it & again to do the job. I would do duals if I had the time. So ..Magnaflow it is. If I'm unhappy with them or I want duals eventually...I'll modify this system. Thank you everyone for your comments.

Do a google on Bosal exhaust for some tips. Both 4 1/2 and 5 avail.

There is no end. It's never over. Strange thing is that the SSR could win a show in it's stock form but somehow we (I) always think it needs something else to make it look, sound & perform better. But that's the fun of it.
