Unhappy wet carpet

Hallo out there,
this is Paul from Germany again. I found a new problem at my LS2- 2005 SSR, the carpet at drivers side is after driving in the rain in the middle quite wet. I checked all rubber plugs, they are tight and fit in place. I cannot see where the water comes in. Had somebody out there a simulare problem and can give me some help?

thank you, I am looking forward to read something

Paul from Germany

Had this on my 06 - water on the driver side floor board - dealer found the leak and re-sealed the pillar post and replaced the door seal gaskets - dropped it off one morning and had it back by 4 the same day.

I had this.

In my case it was the Sirius radio antenna wire that broke the seal around the windshield. We moved the wire and it was fixed.

I had water there and the dealer replaced the first gasket/seal on the contvertable drop top. Good Luck - water leaks can drive you crazy locating them

wet carpet

Thank You for all the good tips, I will check all this positions. What I cannot understand is, that when the water comes from top or side or wherever from, this way should be wet too, but I found only that circle in the middle of the floor.

Over here it is difficult to get service, because the car was not official imported by chevrolet, and therefor no chevydealer will/can help you. To get parts is difficult too, not to impoert them but to identify them with the right number. If I go to a undepented car service they might know not enough details of this special car, so they may brake more than they fix ???????

greetings from old Europ

I also do remember someone having a leak in the wiper area then the water leaked behind the dash. Have you tried sitting inside with it all closed up and having someone hitting different areas with a trickle of water from a hose?

I am not sure about your particular situation, but in my case Freezer, one of the SSR Engineers suspected the way the HVAC system is attached to the firewall to be the source of the problem and he was pretty much right. They had to create an aluminum flange and goop the heck out of it just above the wiper motor because the water was pooling up there and then draining down into the cabin. Every time I did a sharp turn, the pool of water would slosh out and get onto the carpet. Good luck. I am sure in Germany there are water leak experts. I would take it to them and skip the mechanics.
