When is it too loud?

I have a 2004 with headers/high flow cats, K&N cold air intake, high rise lifters and performance tune but the stock exhaust. It is fairly loud now when I get on it but quiet at idle and cruising speeds. I am considering adding the Bosal tips and a Flowmaster 44 but don't want a drone at highway speeds. Does anyone have experience with these mods when adding the flowmaster and tips?

Decided to be loud

I ordered a Fowmaster 44 for Ruby2 (06). It already has the Bosal tips. Will order the tips and FM 44 for ylw bear next month.

I must be missing something--- why do the headers and cats, but leave the stock muffs? The whole idea to change the exhaust is for better flow.Did the high flow cats not come with a performance muff? My point is why now worry about how loud it's going to be?

Headers and Cats

I didn't put the performance options on it - it came that way. Headers and intake sound great and previous owner said he hadn't made up his mind about the exhaust. I just want a little more throaty exhaust rumble

Do you know who made the high flow cats? Mine were magna-flow. They also made the muff. Real nice stuff. Sounded great. Not too loud.

I put true duals with X-Pipe crossover and Flowmaster 50's. Pushes lots of air, sound mellow throaty when you jump on it, but doesn't blast you out of the cabin on the freeway.

When I went to the performance muffler shop - I asked for the Flowmaster 40's, The owner (my age - early 60's) said "You're too old for the 40's". I said, "Excuse me" - He replied - "You won't be able to hear yourself think and you'll be back here in a week wanting to change them out". Reason prevailed (he gave me a beer) and I got the 50's.

Headers and Cats

Chopper - Dynatech header and cats- all integral. Did not include exhaust. It also has K&N cold air induction kit. I think opening up the exhaust would make it flow better but did not want it to get too loud.
