where is the ECBM
I am going through the dashboard lights up like a christmas tree symdrome right now with our 05' slingshot . Replaced switch, still nothing. cleaned and replaced the ground bolt upgrade under the drivers door, still getting a fuel gauge that shows empty. I read a lot about "look at the connections on ECBM"......where is this? I want to pull the connector off this item, but I dont know where it is located.
My SSR: "Rev'in Mr. Black" 1995 Impala SS - black with a 383 stroker motor
Hope this can help

Sounds like it is located inside the frame rail on the drivers side

There is a recal on the Fuel Senders. Talk to your Chevy Dealer about this.

Thanks about the info on the fuel senders..... this one (low fuel light with gauge on E) just started to act up. I will certainly look into that.
Also, I did locate the ECBM; it is indeed on the inside frame rail just underneath the driver. I have access to a drive over pit and this looks like it would be a pretty easy job. ? The only real time that looks like would be consumed would be undoing the break lines.
I cant believe what an electrical/computer nightmare these things are. I love the truck, but thus far I consider it mechanicly a piece of crap. If this was a gun or AR rifle of mine, it would have been gone 5 years ago....

What do you mean clean and dry? I assume you mean to disconnect the harnesses (I saw 2: 1 looked like primary 12 volt power and the other was the control wires/harness) and clean them?

I think someone was thinking ECM. ECBM is for the Brakes. It also controls your Traction Control. ( applys front Brakes and reduces the Hydraulic Pressure to your Transmission.) This is why I keep mine turned off.

I've been going through this (am still going through this). The replacement ECBM needs to be programmed to the truck - it's not a "plug and play" unit - I think. The first one I got had a bad relay, and I had to have it replaced, which GM did under warranty. So far, mostly good on the 2nd ECBM. Good luck!

OK. That sucks because it looks like a pretty easy job in that it is right there on the frame rail. So was that something chevy had to order? What is the cost so far?
Contact RSSRTOY for a better price than most dealerships can give you. It ain't cheap, but his price is closer to reasonable (slightly more than half of what my dealer wanted for the item). I can't say what the price is, because I had some other work done at the time. Sorry.
