Will this work for spare?

Hello again, I am still looking into the spare tire solution. Would someone who has checked into this and has more experience let me know if this will work. I understand the Trailblazer solution and I think, from all the help in my previous post, I have found a Trailblazer wheel for between $20 to $30 with $15 shipping. A new tire would be around $100+ for a total of $135+. ( From my online research )

OK, try this on for size. Discount Tires online has a Razor 17X8.5 6x127 25mm wheel ( #58094 ) that will fit the 06 Trailblazer for $95. Add to that a Goodyear Integrity tire P235/65R-17 ( #31253 ) for $92. Of course you would pay for mounting and balancing for a price of a little over $200. The calculated height would be 29". Would the 235 fit on 8.5" wheel?

Do you think this would work OK if I were to go that route?

Thanks,
Herman Holland

You'd forgo the future option of mounting the tire under the bed, but you know that. If you want under the bed, go for the steel rim and smaller tire.

Via Tire Rack: for Goodyear Integrity, rim range shows "6.5-8.5", so you are OK there. Tire height is closer to stock SSR tires. Load is fine. It's in your bed, but it is OK.

You folks are great, THANKS to everyone who helped me in my two posts...

Thanks to everyone who has offered advice in my two posts.

I will carry the spare in the bed so this may be the way I go.

Thanks again,
Herman Holland
