Unhappy Windscreen pillar trims blown off !!

As I said in my post when I got back from the Cannonball run I have a problem. After 3250 miles of fast driving across europe, luckily when only 80 miles from home, I noticed the drivers side A pillar trim on the windscreen was flapping in the wind I pulled in to find the two plastic push in fixings at the base of the trim were just rattling in and out. Also the two velcro patches had lost there "stick". When I got home I found the passenger side was also coming loose although not as bad! I'm now back home from buying a holiday home in Kissimmee, Florida and must get this problem sorted. My body shop man says he can bond it back on and use a continuous strip of industrial strength velcro. However before he does this i just wondered if any of you guys or girls have experienced this and if there is an official Chevy warranty fix for this? I must say although I was very impressed with the truck "under pressure" I'm not very happy that after 3000 miles of "spirited driving" bits start to "blow off"!! On a $46k truck? I think Chevy could have done a little better than two patches of velcro and two plastic trim plugs
Over to you guys

Smile Hello from South Carolina USA

Hey Maddog,
Thanks for the pillar problem post. I may have to watch for that.
I have owned an 03 5.2 liter SSR and now have an 05 6,0 liter and have had the gauge pack on the console replaced because it was defective.
I know that I have read about the "tink" problem and other problems the members are having.
To me, this car is a special car that GM has made to see how the public would respond to it. And they are making enough so that alot of people could own one.
They may have tested the car before producing it and found it to be safe for the public according to US standards. GM can not tell what might happen in a consumers driving or ownership, so defects may show up.
I accept the fact that all produced machines 0r man-made things will not perform
or be perfect at all times, so we have to put up with imperfections.
I hope you continue to enjoy your SSR like I have despite the flause we might find.

Maddog.....
Go back to the dealer and tell him. they should replace it.

When replacing the windshield for the antenna problem the window guy cracked my passenger side "A" pillar. The service advisor made the call on it as a warranty issue and a new "painted" "A" pillar was something like $350. Think you have a good case with this one.

P/P

Peace

Mad dog is in England. I suspect his dealer is a bit far away.
