Windshield

Bugs on my windshield.

Well I had too many bugs on my windshield, so it was time to change it out so it would be clean for the Maggie Valley run.

A good friend of mine that owns a glass shop, came to my shop and let me watch him work.

He left me a copy of “how to” from March 2004 with a SSR on the cover.

I have scanned the info and posted it here, incase others have dirty windshields also.

Place the curser on the print and left click to make it bigger after you bring it up

Rebel - Did you find an original windshield with the SSR in it or did you have to use an after market replacement. I have a crack in mine and have been waiting to replace it. It won't get done before we go to Maggie Valley.

Nope, "SSR logo" on the windshield is no big deal for me. (my name is not Marc) I'm to far from stock to matter now.

Mine reads PPG the people that make the ones marked SSR for G.M.

The windshield was less than $300 and came with top rubber seal and the mirror mount in place. The antenna just snaps on to the cable like a jacket snap.

The black and black dots we have around the edge of our windshield are called trit. And its purpose is to block sunlight from getting to the urethane adhesive which bonds the windshield to the truck. Sunlight would damage the urethane adhesive over time.
