The wiper part of the blade is not replaceable on the 03 and 04's.

I had to upgrade to the 05 and 06 wiper assembly so I could use replaceable blades.

Jeff is right, filler replacement only on 03/04/early 05 with the torpedo type washers. If you try and remove the washers from the arm, BROKE!!

I use, like jeff suggested, exact fit refills, cut to fit and one blade is longer than the other.

I got exact blade insert replacements at my local NAPA store....the tech just had to pinch the keeper a tad...no problem after installation...not that I drove in the rain all that much!

wiper blade refill

I replaced the wiper blade insert on my 2004 using NAPA parts.

DS 602041

PS 601941

This was in 2009, presume the part numbers are still valid and the cost was $4.89 each.

Easy DIY job.

IF your wiper arm/blade looks like this, don't try and change the blade, just do the refill.

This "Pod" type windshield sprayer was used on 03/04 and early 05.

Any NAPA, Advance Auto, just ask for refill, they will help you.

The "pod" is held on by plastic clips to the arm, if you try and remove it, BROKE!!

Been there, done that!

Had to use silicone caulk to reattach, some use tie wraps but doesn't look as good. Mine have been silicone on for the last 5yrs.

I believe the driver side is 20" and the pass is 19". In a pinch, I bought 2 of the 20" inserts and cut off 1" for the pass side. Somewhere here is a thread on wiper are squirters. Someone found the 05-06 type in Rockauto.com that fit on the arm. I am looking for that part number, as I have a set of 04 wiper arms which have the squirters broken off and need to upgrade them as back ups.

Lonnie, YES, I will take the NEW arms/blades.

I have three used sets but new ones would be nice.

Have set of 06 arm/blades also, should put them on.

Thanks

I went to Napa in Dallas had none available. Vender checked all stores in Texas and found 1 right refill in San Antonio and they had 2 lefts bought 1. Should be here Tuesday. Guys parts are getting hard to get....could be problems down the road.

I get the Rainx - Refill. Exact Fit, I believe it is called.

Anyway, you cut the refill to match your old refills.

20" drivers side
19" passengers side

I have not had a problem finding the ones you cut to fit.

Cutting a 20 blade insert is the easy scheme since 19 and 20 inch inserts are required. Blade inserts come in narrow and wide - the SSR requires a narrow insert. Specifically
20 inches Anco N-20R Narrow
19 inches Anco N-19R (Narrow)
I like Dicktator (sp?) need to install the replacement wiper arms but my glue is holding on the old windshield washer nozzles so I am still using blade inserts.

I've got 2-arms.

The Driver Side has the Nozzle attached.

I just replaced Ilsa's ('03) wiper blade refills at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Trico refill numbers:
46-190
46-200

The old ones took a little effort to get past the tabs, but the new ones slid right into place.

P.S. These refills were not displayed - I had to ask for them, and they were hidden back among all those mysterious areas behind the counter.

Is there any reason besides greed that the parts stores don't display these?

Because they would rather you buy a whole new blade rather than just a refill.

Easy DIY job.

As of December 2013 the above part numbers at NAPA have been superceded by new part numbers:

60-2098
60-1998

THE NAPA UNITS WITH THESE NEW PART NUMBERS DO NOT WORK ON AN SSR. (The track on the back of the NAPA insert is simply too skinny and will not stay put in the wiper arms.) My NAPA dealer has found some of the original part number units out-of-state and has ordered them for me. To be continued...

Cheers,

Unhappy

NONE of the Napa inserts, old or new part numbers, would fit my windshield wipers.

I wound up ordering a set from my Chevy dealer. As stated above, the Chevrolet part numbers are:
1522-0314
1522-0273

well I bought them on ebay today and will see if they work? Out of all of the pictures only one seller showed the end of [an] installed wiper blade. It looks just like my 2003 SSr. REALLY never meant to be replaced........birdmans

I bought bosch wiper blades according to the length on the SSR. Broke off the squirts and then tie wrapped them to the new arm. Good to go!
