Wiring hasrness

I'am going to add the console gauges to my 03.Is there really a wiring harness under the carpet in front of the shift? The rug seems awful tight in that area,i don;t see how you can get to it if it's there.

Yes my #2393 a 2003 had the wireing harness

You are also wired for the trailer hitch. Smart move as one harness, one stock number, works for all 2003 SSR's

Since my SSR is torn apart, I went out and took a picture for you.

You are looking for the wire with the blue block end.

wiring

Looks familiar.
Had to take my console out to find mine.
Freaking hungover union guy tied mine around the shifter.
Bet he had a funny moment over that one.

Gauges

Mine is an 04 and came without gauges.

I bought some and they were the wrong ones.
GM Dealer said that the 50/06 were the same as 03/04.

So much for what he knows.

I did find gauges for my 04 and installed them, and yes, Rebel is right, it is all pre wired. And best of all, it isn't hard to do.
You only have to cut the carpet on the drivers side, just in front of the console.

The bracket is the most difficult.

With mine the wire was under the carpet just at the front edge of the console.
I was able to pull it out with not removing the console.
It's a 3/4 to 1 hour job complete, from cutting the carpet to startup and test drive.

Yes, all years are supposed to be pre-wired whether they came w/ the console gauges or not. Same for the trailer wiring, it's on the drivers side frame rail behind the wheel.

I have the trailer hooked up and have thought about the gauges. Now I am hopeful.

I found the picture. Check around, you'll find the gauges and make sure that you also get the bracket. 03/04 are NOT the same as 05/06. If you're going to trailer anything, I recommend a new fan and tranny cooler.

I had planned on the new fan but not the tranny cooler.

Issssh. Where is the justice in paying $30,000.00 for a truck and then paying six hundred dollars so that it will not overheat in normal traffic and if you want to pull a trailer; protecting the tranny with a cooler???? I know it has to be done, but it is frustrating at times.

I appreciate your advice and will look into the tranny cooler. Thank's Mike.

One of my all time Favorites. That one got me going on the chrome, the taillights, that awesome bowtie-less grille bar and 3 lower bars....Last I spoke to him, he was building a '32 Dearborn Deuce. Dearborn Deuce

That top folds up and stows just like the ASC version of the 3rd Gen Camaro's. I miss my 88's

Man, this is getting to be confusing. Fan $300.00, Predator $350.00, tranny cooler $250.00. I think we might just stay home.

Expensive. I seem to be getting trapped by my own ignorance. I think it is time to withdraw and get some sleep.
