Woodbed Project
Been doing a little woodworking last week and this is what I came up with. Every classic pickup needs a classic oak bed. Here is a peek at my SSR version:

Wow....I bet you could make some more like that and sell as a kit. Looking forward to seeing it in person next weekend.

Looks super! Any chance we can see a photo of how you trimmed/finished the wood bed out at the rear sill?
Thanks,
Alex

I had the plastic bed liner but I think it would even look better installed with the carpet kit. I think I'm going to make a back splash to hide the ugly seams but leave the sides yellow. I still need to come up with something for the tail gate as well.

How about a couple of details like:
How much does it weigh?
How does it attach?
How thick is it (how much bed height do you lose)?
Thx

Yes I'm a school teacher on a Budget
Also everything else is brushed, so it matches.
I did consider it.

How much does it weigh?
Less than 30 pounds.
How does it attach?
Gravity. Requires no drilling or cutting of the truck.
It is possible to use the two black stock rails which would add the 8 screws. I chose not to use them but did mark the spots if I wanted to use them later.
How thick is it (how much bed height do you lose)?
3/4 inch, I think I gained space compaired to the plastic liner. If you had carpet you would lose the 3/4 inch.

Consider it, it still can be done.
There are so many other options that could be done. Walnut, Pine, polished, or wood stips and no metal at all. Satin, gloss, or paint.
