WoW Finally Got The Goofy Aux, Gauge Cluster Seated Right...

The two big tricks here are Getting enough of the padding out and endlessly fooling with the front adjustment bracket to get it into the EXACT right position.
I also found if you put the cluster on and off a few times it wont snap back down again without bending the clips out again. Fitting it so that the front edge of the cluster is tight along the console takes a lot of work and bending of the front adjustment bracket. I also ended up trimming the corners off of the cut carpet under the cluster so it would not eclipse the rear bracket tabs and interfere in the front with the pins coming into contact with the bracket slots. Now that I cut the carpet away from the bracket more the ash tray no longer hits the cluster it really had nothing to do with the padding but, the excess carpet under the cluster raising it up.

I believe that having an ashtray that opens all the way voids the GM warrenty.
