Well there's already some XM install pics, but
Here's some more. THanks to all of the previous post from many members and the bits of advice I got. Have a guy that works for me that did most of the work - but it is a bit nerve wracking to see your baby all torn up like that. It's a bear getting all the new plugs and wires situated so the radio will go back in the same hole. We wound up cutting up most of the superfluous (we hope) plastic off of the plugs.
Got everything hooked up and checked it - worked fine. Then buttoned up the dash and back out of the garage to activate it with XM. Got "No Signal" Had to take the dash off again and found that we'd crimped the antenna wire on the edge of the dash - since it's a microwave unit we had to chuck it. Luckily Jeff had another - so this time we ran the antenna line over the guages and it worked fine.
That airbag cover will scare the #$it out of you when you horse the dash over it - but it will go. Skip2004 also came and helped, but his kitchen pass ran out before we were done.
In hindsight - if you've never done this, it's a valuable learning experience, but if you can get the install done for under $100 it's probably worth the money.
