If you need to use the air compressor that comes with the SSR, don't plug it into the cigarette lighter, there is a port for it inside the bed, behind the tailgate. The one in the lighter is only fused for 10 amps and it won't fully operate the pump or blow the fuse.
If you pull up on the handbrake just a little and put back down, you turn off the day-time running lights (automatics only).
There is an amber as well as a white light on your rear view mirror for interior cabin light. If you press and HOLD the map light button on the rear view it will beep and then the light will turn yellow. If you press and HOLD it again it will turn back to white.
If you're installing window tint, make sure you install moleskin (window fuzzy material) on the inside of the rubber trailing edge at the top of the door panel. If you don't, your tint will get scratched in no time.
If you move the passenger seat seat forward, you can break off the cup holder (in earlier models with the vertical cup holders). The same applies to the driver's side for all years.
You can't leave anything plugged into the auxiliary plug in the bed overnight it will kill your battery.
The rear deck lid cover must be closed first before closing the tailgate.
The passenger side seat heater won't work unless the seat-belt is fastened.
The lid on the center console will stay up if you push it back until it latches.
The speedometer is prone to freaking out and indicating that you're going 95 when you're doing 30. When they replace it, make sure you tell them to save the rubber snub plugs. Without them light shines through a number of holes in the gauge. And there's no new plugs with a new speedometer. (Also replacement may not be necessary. Try turning the vehicle on and off a couple of times to see if the speedometer resets itself.)
These trucks don't come with a spare tire. They do come with an air compressor and a bottle of leak stop.
SSRs have a tendency to have the rear end "kick out" if you are making a turn and accelerating on wet pavement.
When closing the top, if you continue to hold the "raise top" button past the beep indicating the end of the cycle, both windows will close also.
Did you know the battery is located under the rear of the SSR but you can jump it at the leads under the hood.
When you close your hood you should not push on the Chevrolet trim piece as it will easily break. (Also for 03-04's remember you have a hood prop rod. Forgetting will result in a bent rod and a torn under hood blanket.
Before you disconnect your battery you need to open your doors (or lower your windows).....this will have the windows in the lower indexed position and they can then be opened and closed without tearing your seals.
There is an ash tray in the cab.
When you're cleaning your interior, you can slide the seats forward and use your sun visor to hold the seats forward.
In the winter time (in northern climates), ice can form around the rubber seals on the door and prevent the windows from indexing down, which makes it difficult or impossible to open the door.
There is only a key hole on the driver's side door.
When putting the top down, you only have to push the brake to START the process. Once the top has started moving, you can release the brake....in fact you can start driving too

When putting the top down while you are moving, that the top will STOP moving when you accelerate up to 25 mph.
You cannot put the top down with the cargo cover open (or not closed all the way).
You have to be in Park to open the Bed cover (automatics only).
The Traction Control is OFF light comes on when you drive above 95 mph.
There are 2 cables behind your seats, one for unlocking the roof so that it can be manually raised and one for locking it down.

When locking your vehicle all you have to do is press the lock on the control console ONCE till you hear a double chime now get out of your vehicle making sure you have your keys/FOB in your pocket proceed to close the door and walk away in abouts guessing 5-7 seconds the door automatically locks the truck.
If you press the button on the speedometer without the keys in the ignition, the mileage will display in the DIC.
If you locked the SSR via the FOB, if you use your key to unlock the door for entrance, when you open the door the alarm/horn will go off and when you start it the horn will go off again.
The little door under the bed cover in earlier SSRs with the bed carpet kit was originally designed for various items that could fit into it. The best was a tool kit like BMW. But nothing was ever put into production.
In the automatics, if you come to a complete stop while the shifter is in 2nd gear there's no downshift to 1st, you'll take off in 2nd.
If using the Chevy supplied compressor to pump up one of those 20 inchers, and it takes so long you get bored and start reading the compressor section of the owners manual, it will tell you to run the engine while using the compressor.
If someone steals your SSR Radio, it is useless to them. Your Factory Radio has a Eprom installed in it with your Vehicles Vin# stored in it.
All SSRs came with a wiring harness under the truck for trailering. It's on the drivers side frame rail by the rear fascia. It is just the standard wiring, you will need to add an adapter.
If you put it in 1st gear (automatic), it turns off the traction control.
When you put your high beams on, your fog lights will go off.
