Sparky - just got to Brooks for tomorrow's appointment with Westers.
We went through Osoyoos so we could take Anarchist - I'd recommend you take it going back. It's two lanes the whole way up, so you can run it pretty hard, especially with a 6 speed. You can blow by the crawling transports with no problem. If you take it coming to Penticton, it's one lane downhill with the brakes on, probably stuck behind a transport for 20 miles.
We stayed in Nelson last night, and went north to take the ferry across Kootenay lake - that's a trip to die for if you like running twisting roads with no traffic (stop to visit the artisan shops in Crawford Bay for an hour, and let the ferry traffic disappear. About 20 shifts per mile, and 20 smiles to the gallon. It comes back out at Creston.

Ray,
New to the neighborhood, our first outing was Lake Chelan. What a great, friendly, fun loving group and full weekend. We have confirmed 4 nights at Pentiction and my wife Linda earlier today had e-mailed you confirming Zia's for two. We're both looking forward to meeting you just across the 49th. Parallel in 08'. Sue has been such a wealth of information and her orginazition skills are just awesome.I wonder if she ever sleeps???
Ray and Linda,
Olalla's one and only Pacific Blue,Final Production Run
My SSR: Silver with Pink Ghost Flames, Pink Lettering & Flares with PINK Bow Ties on Rims!
Ray and to all the rest of the NW SSRs.......
These two, Ray and Linda, are awesome new comers - I presented them with a Certificate stating they were no longer VIRGIN SSR owners and we did have a great Christening outing in Chelan!!!
Wait until you see them at Penticton - they will not believe there are so many SSRs in the world, and of course, their Pacific Blue is drop dead Gorgeous!!! Linda was a bit reluctant at first but I will venture to guess she will have so much fun she will not believe it!!!
You know how hard I've worked to dig the US SSRs out of their holes, and all of a sudden, the sun came out and we had FOUR new ones join us in Chelan for their first NW SSR event !! i was sooooooo tickled !! And with Cindy, Peter, Joanne and Doug, we even learned a bit of Canadian in preparation for our trip to Penticton !!
My SSR: Silver with Pink Ghost Flames, Pink Lettering & Flares with PINK Bow Ties on Rims!
Another NW SSR New-Bie !!!
This is what Glenn wrote to me this morning...... can you hear the excitement in his words!!??? He is speaking for Jack & Sandi as well as Carol and himself !!! (All four are the GURU's of the Parade Business, and Float Building!!)
OK! You convinced us to do the full meal deal in Penticton. I just got
off the phone and reserved two rooms for the 19th thru 23rd. No, Carol
and I aren't having problems, the other room is for Jack and Sandi. I
also printed out the registration form and will get them mailed ASAP.
Carol said hello and wants a couple of the pins. Jack and I recently
installed the Under Hood letters and I just received my billet grille.
Fun spending money on a great machine. I told Carol I have to get ready
for the Penticton show. Good excuse as any.
I also sent Ray all of our info, email etc. and have been PM'ing him
today.
Are you sure June is not just a couple a weeks away. I can't wait. I
will start saving up my old Marshal stories.

Hello Ray and all SSR Fanatics: Hal here,One of the topics of conversation at the
"Invasion of Gig harbor" this past weekend was the parade at penticton on Friday evening. We were talking about (Carol & Glenn Whaley-Parade experts- suggested) we divide the ssr's into two to three segments, depending on how many participate etc. so all the parade watchers can get a look at our cool
ssr's and the tops in motion, first bunch starts with tops down, second up third down and every couple hundred yards or so (TBD) a leader of that fleet will signal
to their respective group, to put their top up or down depending on the intial start position etc. We do this thru-out the parade so the majority of the public can see our versitile and
cool ssr in action, thought that was a neat idea, what do you think?!
PS: Every two hundred yards or so only one group lowers their top or puts it up,so we are all not doing it evey five minutes,we just go in a rotation of group unison etc.IE: Two hundred yds. first group does their thing, two hundred yds. second group does the top action ,so on and so forth along the parade route.
My SSR: Silver with Pink Ghost Flames, Pink Lettering & Flares with PINK Bow Ties on Rims!
Aren't we lucky to have Professional Parade people in our NW SSR group!!!
What a great thought from Glenn ........ It is wonderful to have the Parade Professionals and to also have time to plan some of these details so everyone will know what is going on!!
Sue - off to the Car Wash to get rid of the debris from our Invasion........ I hope no one ended up with pneumonia from the rain drops!!

I think it's a great idea. We had talked a bit about it last summer, and we have our resident fire chief(s) Mark and Roberta Tessen to lead the pack with their red fire truck, complete with red flashing lights and fire department logos on the doors.
Several Fanatics mentioned they really enjoyed the parade. Last year was the first attempt. Sounds like it'll be bigger and better this year. It's also really overwhelming to see so many SSRs arriving on site at the same time - great stuff.
On another happy note, Bernie, who won all the trophies at the 07 Cruise with his awesome 40 Cadillac, is now officially a Fanatic.
PS - Does someone have a photo of the Fire Truck - Can't believe I don't have a shot of it. I'll go check the photo thread about the Beach Cruise.
Sue saves the day - photos of the Fire Truck.
