Surprising number of shots of SSRs. The large group with Dennis is none other than SSRFanatics.
A second episode of My Classic Car in late August featured Summerland and a Winery Cruise.

Our SSRs will be on the grass at Rotary Park Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Security will be on site, eliminating the logistics of parking at the hotel. Parking at the Lakeside will be limited this year with the auction happening on the open parking lot of the Lakeside.
Registrations for the 2010 Beach Cruise was 770 cars. We can accomodate up to 800 cars.
The setting is spectacular. The car show is staged from the Lakeside Resort Hotel (The long pier at the center of the photo) all the way to the SS Sicamous, at the far right, just before the river channel.
We will be using the park area to the right of the hotel on the photo below. We'll be just off the beach, on grass, directly across from the outdoor entertainment area and concessions.
Registration for the 2011 Peach City Beach Cruise is now online. Click on the photo galleries on the left side of the main page to see the quality of cars at the 2010 show.
The Saturday night buffet at the Lakeside Hotel (optional), is not included in the basic registration price.
We will arrange an early meal time so we can cruise afterward. Include the cost of the meals when you register either online or by mail.
Registration includes free entertainment at Gyro Park all weekend, a Winery cruise/poker run on Friday afternoon, the Parade of Iron through the city Friday night, an evening show and shine Friday night, the car show Saturday and a Cruise on Saturday afternoon. Breakfast is available at a nominal cost on Saturday and Sunday.
The Beach Cruise will accept checks for mail in pre-registration, cheques or cash at on-site registration. As per supersleuth Sue, US postage to Canada is 72 cents.
Poker Run Friday afternoon will be to 9 wineries and a pub in the Naramata area. First prize is a case of wine, second is 1/2 case.
***For the fourth year in a row, Fanatics have won the Wine Cruise.
2010 winners - Stephen and Gayle (Tugboat) from Nanaimo
- Second place - Ken from Langley
2009 winners - Nathan and Bernie (xs-cash) from Edmonton
2008 winners - Peter and Cindy (DRAGN)
2007 winners - Frank and Ann (frankmp) from Edmonton.
Reports from participants in the poker run are very positive. It's an all-day event - you can rush through, or stop anywhere along the way and enjoy some wine tasting, food or scenery. Several wineries, the Naramata Inn, and the Pub will have a lunch menu. Cards must be turned it at the SS Sicamous registration center by 5:00 PM
Hotels
The Lakeside Resort Hotel is a luxury hotel on the Beach. It has a pub, the Magnums restaurant indoors, a patio eating area, and the Hooded Merganser Restaurant built over the water. It also has a Casino.
If you check the photo of the hotel on the link below, the park area is just over top of the Hooded Merganser restaurant on the right, past the giant tree.
The Lakeside is very convenient, at the center of the Beach Cruise, next to Rotary Park.
I have booked 40 rooms, available from Thursday through Sunday. $165 Parkview $175 Beachview $185 Lakeview. Some upgrades to executive suites may be available.
Book by calling their toll-free number 1-800-663-9400. Booking is under SSRFanatic
Alternative Accomodations. These are a 10 - 15 minute walk or a short drive away.

Perfect Timing. I will be in Seattle for a wedding on June 18 so I will plan on the Beach Cruise as the kick off on my "Road to Flagstaff." Maybe this time I can get there without being stopped by the WSP. I'll get my registration in after our (USA) Thankgiving.

Sounds like an awesome road trip. I wouldn't mind being part of your luggage.
Great news that you'll make the Beach Cruise.

Maybe they just wanted to admire the SSR and had to give you a ticket as a pretense. You did get a ticket didn't you? If not it was definitely the SSR.

It was definitely the SSRs (no ticket). They stopped the last two of a caravan of ten I think. They said the Airplane clocked us at 71 in a 65 as we were trying to catch the rest because we got caught at a trafic light, in the middle of nowhere, that changed to red for no reason. I think it was a speed trap and when we both told the same story independently the felt they would lose if we challenged it. They did keep us under survelliance from there to the border. I'll tell that story when I meet you.

Ray, we won't be making the trip up there. We had a blast from the time we left Az to the time we returned. It was definitely a relaxing tour from border to border. We'd definitely do it again sometime. We have a lunch date in Michigan and then off to Flagstaff from the LCC.
I also hear the Keys calling me, so hopefully you will still have the tu-tone when we see you guys again!

It was great having you here last year. The two-tone isn't going anywhere - except hopefully Flagstaff next September.

Jeez, Mark,
Have you been into the giggle juice for New Years?
It's been a bit busy here the last couple of weeks, so haven't posted much. Our Beach Cruise web guy is on holidays, so haven't seen the latest registrations.
Many more SSRs to come, but historically, very little happens until we turn the corner into January.
Adding Mark to the list.
Did your boss have a car here, or was she just visiting?
Tell us more.

She told me some friend and her decided to go. So there was no car for the show. Said she won some money at the resort there. She and I did not cross paths there but she saw all the trucks.
