Note the pic below - can you see the tach needle on the left? Sitting solidly on 2k rpm? What's that, somewhere around 70? Yep, time for a visit to the dealer for troubleshooting. We stopped at a rest area and sitting still with the engine off registered 90 mph.
However, with the speedo broken, I drove like crazy and if I got stopped, I had proof that I couldn't tell how fast I was really going!
Time to talk to Joe.....be careful El Guapo on the way home.
Hi Friends.................We had a great time in Lake Penticton. Met many fanatics from the Northwest and Canada. Ray and Sue had everything well organized and their hospitality was greatly appreciated. The scenery on this trip was spectacular..........snow-capped mountains, rushing rivers, pine trees, lakes and delicious cheeries. Tonight we made it to Portland, OR, then on to Gold Beach, OR to go jet boating on the Rogue River. Later, we'll be in San Francisco to visit my niece. Thanks to our NW friends!
Lloyd and Gerry

Some of us are hard-working, God-fearing folks who can't take frivolous side trips! However, Connie and I were just out of time and money, so came home! Back in Phoenix this afternoon at 3:00 p.m., logged 3,999.1 miles, with the only hiccup being the speedometer getting ahead of us a few times. Great run, great folks in Penticton. Hope all of you have a safe and fun trip to your next stop. See you in Laughlin, if not before.
Those that can take "take frivolous side trips" are doing just that. Autodan, Dan and Phyllis, stayed with us last night in Prince George (500 miles north of Penticton) on their way to Alaska! They left their in Penticton with Flassh and in a rental car for the trip north. They were impressed with the highway to Prince George. We had a great visit and they were on the road again this morning to Alaska, they have to come back through Prince George so we get another visit in

After a great gathering and some sad good-bye's we pressed on toward Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. We got to the ferry in the nick of time. With no reservation and a lot of cars, we were lucky and got one of the last places on the ferry. After getting into Nanaimo, we found a nice little (brand new) Ramada Inn for peaceful night.
Pic 1 is one of the bridges into Vancouver, headed for the ferry.
Pic 2 is watching the mainland fade behind us
Pic 3 made me a little nervous.... they really pack the cars into the ferries in BC...

Hi, Mike
Great shots.
One way to improve your chances on the ferries is to ask, request, beg even, at the ticket booth to be allowed on the main truck deck. That puts you into a different lineup. With any luck, you'll be between transports, with no one able to ding your doors.
Have a safe trip back.

Hi Mike & Debbie: Boy,the time went by so darn fast, and you guys were so busy,Toni & I didn't have a chance to have a quiet moment to chat with the two of you, actually that held true for most everyone there, nature of the situation I suppose. Anyway, you are or were staying in Olympia for a day or two you said,we live an hour from Olympia,If you are still there,we owe you and your bride a dinner for a special favor you did for me last year, when you looked at that Lexus SC430,that I bought and sold. I don't forget,We would drive to you if you can, bring mom too! OH and thanks for fixing me up with those chrome door braces, very cool!! Hal & Toni
Just a couple photos here. The trip from Nanaimo to Victoria was beautiful.
Gassed up in along the way. I love the 94 octane gas and so does the SSR.... Ohg yeah... that 1.61 works out to be about $6.00 a gallon
The pump shut off at $100. That's 61.766 liters...... approximately 16.3 gallons
Pic 1 Victoria, BC countryside
Pic 2 love the 94 octane
pic 3 hate the price for 16 gallons
Gotta go now..... Deb is ready for Breakfast......
Mike,
Wish I could have given you a private tour of the Island, but looks like you found your own piece of my, (and fellow Island fanatics) paradise, (even if the gas is expensive!). Was great to meet you in Penticton. Thanks for the air dams and crawling under yet another SSR.

Debbie and I had a really pleasant dinner (for two) in Victoria on the 24th and a great day on the 25th. Debbie asked me to post the photos from the Victoria Butterfly Gardens...... The place is a large atrium/greenhouse that is filled with exotic plants, a lot of butterflies and a few really cool birds. Well worth the few bucks admission. I'd go again.
