Finished My Shifter Project

The one thing I disliked about my SSR was the shift knob for the automatic trans, I had been wanting a racier looking knob since I bought it. After not finding anything ready made to replace it, I bought a Hurst handle and modified it to work, here is a pic of how it turned out, it works great.

Modifying Shifter Handle

It is really an easy modification, you buy the Universal Pistol Grip Handle made by Hurst, most stores sell them for about $39.99 drill and tap a hole into the back of the handle about a half inch from the bottom and screw a 1/4 inch setscrew into it to secure it to the shifter. then drill a hole up thru the large hole in the bottom until it goes thru the top of the handle, the hole should be just a hair bigger than an after market smooth door lock knob which is used as the release button, the stock knob comes off by loosening the set screw on the front facing the dash.

Diamond Plate Floormats

Yes, the floormats are diamond plate aluminum, I bought them off ebay a couple years ago.
