Ray's Pacific Blue, Catching the view
Hello Fanatics: Well as Sue described it was a day to be with friends and Mother Nature, in autumn, the weather was record high for this time of year here on the Olympic Peninsula, temperatures in the high fifties to low sixties, depending on altitude etc.As the initial thread pointed out we started our trek at Kitsap Cty Bank in Port Orchard,Wa. at 11:15 sharp. At 11:08 Ray Harries pulled up faithfully in his pacific blue iron steed, after just coming off a two and a half hour drive from Portland,Or.,now that's a commited SSR Fanatic if I ever saw one,man that ride can be grueling at times! Thanks Ray and all the special fanatics that joined us this last Sunday for our day tripper to first Sequim, then Port Angeles, then from down town a left turn on race st., that led us up the moutain side to a spectacular topside winter ski board area and tourist
site known as Hurricane Ridge, little over 5000 feet high, but it seemed like heaven as we looked down and across the beautiful olympic green forrest basin that seem to extend out to infinity with green velvet looking fir trees blanketing the hillsided as far as the naked eye could see!We had a very tasty
brunch at the Oak restaurant in Sequim, where we had the always enjoyable
mixed conversations of the day while we waited for our individual meals to arrive.Great food fanatics,if you ever get to Sequim, try them, you won't be disappointed! After we took pictures a top Hurricane Ridge, and had a short social
and sorta reverant individual moments to take in God's beauty and I believe in silence we all thanked our creator for the blessing he granted us this day
and also the reminder that along with this crazy neato truck came surprisingly,a family of friends that we truely love and enjoy looking forward
to every ssr event with expectation of joy and excitment! So until next time
ssr fanatics friends, happy trails until we meet once again!
For a quick get to gether this trip turned out to be another great run. Thanks for all the photos and kind words from Sue and Hal. Oh well mayby not so kind about not running with my fog light on. Just trying to save from replacing them (trying to be green you know).
Anyway here are some additional photos from the trip.
We didn't see any bears but there were a few deer. The 17 mile ride to the top of the mountain was full of turns but the brand new road made it a good ride. I Don't think I would want to make the trip with snow and ice on the ground. No gardrails and a long way to the bottom.

Glenn, I forgive you.......... for forgetting your FOG LIGHTS
and then I need to say that your photo of our SSRs against the Hurricane Ridge mountain shapes should win you an AWARD !! It is absolutely INCREDIBLE !!! (and I know you had to share your photo spot with a huge family of foraging deer!!) Aren't you a DEAR !!
We had such a great day and the views were awsome. Here are a few we want to share with you. The first group are on the way to the ridge heading to Sequim and Port Angeles then starting our climb to the top.
