LST Lift Struts coming to the Beach Cruise
Just confirmed with Stephen that he will be coming to Penticton with his lift strut goodies.
For those of you not familiar with his product, Stephen supplies lift struts in black or stainless to replace the existing factory hood and rear deck lift struts. For those of you complaining that they can't get a finger under the rear lid to lift it open, taking a few minutes to replace the stock struts with LST struts will allow you to launch a small child into orbit - OK maybe a small cat.
Stephen also has a great kit to replace the stock prop rod on 03/04 SSRs with a pair of gas struts similar to the 05/06 SSRs. No more bent prop rods or risk of the hood coming down when it shouldn't.
Here's a link to the info about LST going to Maggie Valley. Check out the comments to get a feel for how good his product is.
Hood – Black Powder Coated Mild Steel Hardware Kit
with Black Hood Supports & Chrome Shafts $185.00
2005-2006 Hood Supports:
Polished Stainless Steel. $210.00 Pair
Black $120.00Pair
2003-2006 Deck Lid.
Deck Lid, Polished Stainless $185.00
Deck Lid Black $120.00
We also have the Polished Stainless and Black Supports for the New Style Deck Lid Hinges. Priced as above.
We can modify the pressure in the Supports to accomodate any style of added Spoiler.
Please use this thread, or PMs to communicate with Stephen with your requirements so he can come to Penticton armed with enough product for all who are interested in improving their SSR. He will likely arrive Friday. Friday morning, Friday evening and most of Saturday should be available to Stephen if he wants to set up a tech session for installs. Sounds like he has 30 plus installs to do at Maggie Valley.
For all my SSR friends coming to Penticton, this information is on a need to know basis, and Iris does not need to know!!!!!!! The Tickleberry stop last year allowed her to find out more than she needed to know about the not so stock items on my SSR, and we don't need to add the LST stainless struts front and back to her list.
My additions seem to have added to the cost of the new house.

I'll help too.....
I've been a stocking dealer for LST (Steve) for a year now and will be bringing my tools for helping with the installs. Especially useful will be the pneumatic ( yeah baby ) rivet tool for pulling in the 3/16" stainless bracket rivets on the hood. I'll also bring the portable air supply for it.
Steve, if you need me to bring any extra struts, just call.
Mike

Mike,
Much easier for Steve to bring the struts - you've got to deal with Customs twice, and much better not to be bringing anything you "intend" to sell - raises eyebrows at the border.
You can easily explain the compressor and equipment by telling them you don't have a spare and like to carry tools.
Unless - you have a spare?

I'd like to replace my rear struts and install the hood strut lifts. How would I order these parts? Is there a trick or special tools needed for the install of the hood struts?
Thanks, Joe

You can contact Stephen by PM to Support Tech. Just click on that name a couple posts above yours.
He will steer you through the install. I'm guessing the tricky part is drilling the holes into the hood support frame to attach the upper mounting brackets.
The rear lid ones are an easy replacement.
