Moving to bend, oregon....

Hi to all my SSR FANATIC friends. Sold our house in Warwick new york and moving to Bend to be by our grandchildren. The SSR is being transported by the HORSELESS CARRIAGE TRANSPORTERS. It will be going in an enclosed transporter, cost more but I feel much better about it going that way. Do we have any SSR owners out there. Please let me know. SCUFFY

I haven't heard of bend Oregon in years. Last time my brother and I went hunting, for Elk, was just outside Bend, Oregon, in the national Forest. there was even talk of him retiring there some day.

I hope its all you want it to be.

Congratulation on selling your home. We can not sell our home here is Las Vegas, I guess we will have to give it away when we get ready to move.

Was just plotting out my (possible) 2nd Annual Fall Oregon drive. Thinking after stopping at Crater Lake heading on up Hwy 97 to the Columbia River - and Bend is on that route! Plan after that is to the Pacific Ocean and South back to California... Shooting for a 10-15 days journey - if I can pull it off.

If I make the drive - I'll have to look you up!

Bend is quite beautiful - a bit off the road, but great skiing, hiking, fishing and the like ! Sun Mountain is world renown as is Mt. Bachelor. We may have to do a NW run to come and visit you - (HINT HINT HINT) fall or spring !! Inn of the Seventh Mountain is a great place to stay !

I will PM you with information for Brian & Ann, SSR owners in Winston, so you will have someone to come with when you meet the rest of us to the north - you're invited anytime !!!!

You also have some great SSRs in the Portland area who meet once a month for brunch through the thread Monthly E&Gs - contact ABLUR05, David.

It's a buyer's market. That's just what we did, gave it away. But it's worth doing so to be with our grandchildren. Scuffy

OP, That was the plan about a 1 1/2 year ago. But my son-in-law got a better offer in a job at Bend, so that's where we are heading. We gave our house away. Buyers market, you know. Scuffy

Hi Scuffy,

Bend is beautiful! It is high desert, so this time of year it can get warm. The PDX Fanatics get together monthly for an E&G (Eat & Greet) at a local establishment. I will copy you beginning with our August outing. Welcome to Oregon!

I can check with my Bro, or Nephews/Nieces. They still live up there.

I went so fast on that Slide I almost launched out of the tube and on to the Rocks. I slowed down after that.

I can remember going fast enough to pass people on the way down. From what I could find on the internet, it looks like the slide is long gone.

Someone probably got launched in to the Rocks. I know it was a close one for me. That was a fun ride. My Nephew is checking on the status of the Slide. He hasn't been to Shastina Lake in a long time. But he will ask other Family Members.
