new driveshaft anyone?

Have a look at this thread please Yes!! Jim G's SSR finally has a QUIET driveshaft!!
I am so sick of hearing my Tink Tink. I am finally going to order one, have been meaning to for the last couple years. But if 5 or more of us want one we can get a group purchase and save $50. And the shipping to WA is free. Dennis is ready to ship them out in one week after we order. Each of us would call the order into Dennis, so it's not like I need your $$ or credit card #'s
Now here's what I'm thinking - if one of the interested WA fanatics has a mechanic that they recommend, we could all get the shafts installed at the same place, same day. Can you say tech session?!!! It would be great to have something to do in October as most of us are going thru roadtrip withdrawal
Any questions?

Here is the deal, there is not much profit in these, but any savings helps today. The retail cost on these shafts are now 490.00 so I have to update my web site I just got off the phone with manufacturer, if we buy five at at time I can sell them for 440.00 with free shipping. Ten at a time 50.00 off.
Now I have to know if the truck is a auto or standard and some owners have upgraded there rear ends I have to know that as well to insure the drive shafts come with the correct rear flange. Call me if you have any questions.

tink?

Ok, now i have a tapping noise in mine. It sounds like a valve tap but Chevrolet tells me it's something in the transmission? is this a differnt noise than what your talking about? because i'm not familiar with a tinking from the driveshaft. my tapping annoys the heck out of me so if these are the same noises i would very much be intrested. it also sounds like this noise your talking about is on both the manuals and the automatics? i was told by chevy that my noise was a manual only issue. btw mine is a 2006 6spd still stock.

I would suggest you search on 'driveshaft tink' but from what you are saying I suspect it is not the same thing.

Tim, yours sounds like it might be a different issue. On mine, 90% of the time when the tranny shifts I hear a "tink tink" from under the rear of the truck, alas the drive shaft. It's embarrassing when pulling away from a red light and in every gear I hear that damn tink. When I shift into reverse, again that tink (more often than not I get tink tink).
Hey everyone, this is an awesome price that Dennis is offering!!!! Can we get it done before the end of October????

This raises a question for Dennis. For the group purchase price, do all the shafts have to be sent to the same address?

This was a question, I think wildcat66, that was asked on Jim's thread but I never found an answer.

My 6 speed does not make any noise. Now if it did. Just rev it up and dump the clutch. You will find the problem

Last week I finally had enough of the "tink" noise in my 2004 SSR drive shaft. It was getting very loud and annoying while driving (putting into gear, when initially letting off of or pressing down more on the gas pedal).

I ordered an aluminum (6061) drive shaft from Dennis Reinhart for $490.00 (shipped).

It arrived today. I installed it and took my 2004 SSR on a test drive. The "tink" is gone (for now). As I found with my previous GM drive shaft replacements, if I can still say it's quiet after driving 1000 miles, then I'll be really happy.

This is not the MMC drive shaft (no longer available) but Dennis stated this will take care of my "tink" noise.
