PS - As I type this we are setting in our room looking out at the pacific coast at Seaside, OR. Weather was good enough for the Top-down run through Astoria and to Seaside.
Ray and Iris are planning to be there for the Semiahmoo weekend. Our wild card will be the dates for our boat company dealer meeting - hopefully they follow the same pattern as prior years and hold it mid-August.

Add your ideas for NW SSR events !!!
We're busy putting a lot of ideas together for NW FANTASTIC SSR's to gather, party and DRIVE (not necessarily in that order).
Please help out and add your thoughts to our wish list - also remember the Peach City Cruise is going on in June in Penticton, BC again ! That's always fun for those who are interested ! Ray (Flassh) is going to push for 2010 and make it an International Event hoping to get SSR's near and from far away as well !!
Semiahmoo already has a financial commitment for rooms from Dard n' Terry. Please sign in if you can attend - it's a long way off, but is soooooo popular, the rooms fill fast !!
Hope all is well !!
xxxooo,
Sue

Hi Sue,
I'm a rookie at this club thing, but there are many nice spots through the Columbia River Gorge both in Washington and Oregon. Bend is a great high desert area with many scenic drives and could be seperate or combined with Crater Lake that might draw in some from Northern California. I will be attending this year's International event in Kerrville. I know the area like the back of my hand. Lots of interesting little towns and honkytonks galore. I'm taking myself and on a national tour during my sabbatical next year from mid-June through mid-September.
Thanks, Dave

2009 SSR Events
A Cruise along the Columbia River Gorge has possibilities, maybe caravanning to Multnomah Falls, then back to Portland and all go on a Jet Boat Ride from Portland to Astoria on the Columbia River, those boat rides include either a brunch or a dinner depending on the day and time. Or we could caravan the SSRs to Astoria and go to the Columbia River Maritime Museum.

Now you all are thinking of great adventures !!!!
Keep those thoughts and we will put them out for comments & commitments !! I like the idea of going to the Columbia Gorge Hotel for lunch because a very dear friend of mine owns it and might enjoy doing a lunch or something for our group !!!

Sue, I have been out of the loop for some time and hoping to get back in, I just renewed my membership on this site for life. So hopefully we can do more events that don'[t clash with my other ones, That has been the problem as opf late. I will try to be more active.

Welcome Back !!!!
We are all dying to get our fabulous trucks out as soon as our roads are fixed and good weather brings those blue skies back !!! Meanwhile, we all have our party hats on ready to put together some NW SSR FASTASTIC fun, so rest assured, you will always be on "my list" !!!
If you Fanatics up there decide to come down as far as Oregon I would be interested in coming up for a run. I'm stuck in the middle, everything is eithier down South to far or to far North .

I am pushing for an Oregon run -
There is nothing more beautiful than the Oregon Beaches - really fun to drive on Hiway 101, gorgeous coves and little nooks to explore........ tell us where you would like to visit......... I have camped on the Oregon coast with my best friend who lives in Portland - we have only missed three years in nearly 35 ........... there is no nook or cranny we haven't explored - Gold Beach is a hoot when one takes the mail boat up the Rogue River; Florence has the dune buggies and wonderful crabbing at South Jetty; Newport is awesome; Sun River and Eden Beach is fabulous; north to Cannon Beach with all of its history and even further north to the Batter Russell and the 1915 shipwreck of the Frigate, the Peter Iredale !! Probably a week trip the way I look and drive........ 2 days or so for the Hot Rodders !!!
Early to mid-September (before the snow hits the mountain passes) is my favorite month to get away. Definitely interested in visiting the Oregon coast again.

Oregon Coast Trip
Late Summer or Early Fall would be great for the Oregon Coast, I would personally prefer late August because I drive a School Bus in Oregon starting at the beginning of September each year but am off all summer, but if it ends up in September my weekends are open.
