NW SSRs at the Drive-In Movie, Aldergrove, BC, Sept. 12th & 13th

DETAILS and Tentative Agenda – some scheduled events could change. Most are booked.

Friday September 12th there will be a Steak BBQ dinner at Peter & Cindy's home. (DRAGN) There will be a $20.00 US or Canadian dollar (it doesn’t matter) cost for dinner, which will cover the steaks, all the fixings, dessert, snacks, wine and beer. We will need a firm confirmation by August 31st for the dinner if you will be attending and a cheque mailed to 27545-51A Avenue, Langley, B.C. V4W 4A9 Make checks out to Cindy Ouimet in advance so that we can plan for the food preparation. (Postage from USA is $.72) We will be starting at 6:00 p.m. You will be met at the motel at 5:30 p.m. to follow a lead car back to their house. If you miss the lead car directions will be left at the front desk.

Saturday September 13th we will meet you at the motel at 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot after breakfast. We will be going to see a private family collection of vintage automobiles The Johnson Collection is housed in a brand new 28,000 square foot building. This includes a Main Exhibit Hall, Diana Showroom, 1950’s Diner and Workshop wings. This a very rare opportunity to be able to see this display. Then onto the Mission Springs Brewery/Restaurant for lunch and a tour of the Brewery.

There is beer sampling here and a very large Restaurant, great food, unique place. Their website is Mission Springs Brewery. We will go on a valley car run from here. If we are up to it we will stop at “Granny and Grumpas’s Antiques, it is the largest in the valley, something to catch everyones interest. A stop at the Dairy for some ice cream may be a sweet, cool down/pee break stop. Then onto the drive-in theatre in Aldergrove/Langley which is our next stop.

The Theatre will open up the concession and box-office a little early for us, so we can go in park together, grab a burger, hot dog, fries, onion rings etc …. for dinner and then maybe some popcorn - have a little tailgate dinner, then a movie. Unfortunately I will not know the movie until a week before - but it’s all part of the experience. Their website is Welcome to the official site of the Twilight Drive-In – check it out!

Do you really think that Jack and I would miss being with our new gang of SSR friends! We will be there. I will get our resevations made for the hotel. This is more fun than going on a week long vacation! We are doing lots of little ones instead. What a fun summer we have planned

It's been too quiet on the Northwest forums - my post from the 16th about LST struts at the Beach Cruise is still the newest post.

Has everyone gone to sleep around here?

Time to get this Drive-In weekend into gear - need more people!!!!

Looking forward to sitting back and actually getting a chance to visit with our Fanatic friends. The Beach Cruise went by in a bit of a blur.

OK - bad eye joke. I'm getting better by the day, and almost ready to get back to some SSR driving.

Our Darling DRAGN's are busy readying their move from their fabulous Estate the weekend after our Drive-In Movie Event; FireChaser, Roberta (our Own BETSY ROSS) is busy too...... Our Super 8 Motel Reservations are filling up, and your very own NW SSR Watch Dog is ready to get everyone lined up for our last NW SSR Group Events of 2008 !!!

I recruited a few more NW SSR's on my vacation last week !! Had a wonderful lunch with Lou & Yvonne (Lou's SSR) and Gary (Richochet) at the Boat House in Richland on Tuesday !! Of course, the Drive-In Weekend was discussed and promoted !! There are many NW SSR's still uncommitted, but in our radar for sure !!

SSRfans from Vancouver island are realizing they just can't stand to miss the fun and their group is growing (albeit slowly) as well !! Rick & Cheryl owe me big time for all the information I sent !!!

We have a lot of special fun in the works for the weekend, so get those reservations made and please let me know so I can take care of my part of the event !!

Booked our room via the website. If you stay two nights, you get a rate even less than the rate they quoted you, about $73/night. I let them know I am with the SSR Club. Now I just need to get my dinner cheque off to our most gracious hosts.

Just getting back into the swing of things. I find work to be inconvenient at times, especially when it overlaps SSR events.

I'm going to make a few calls to see if I can knock some fence sitters off their perch. It's our last kick at playing with our SSR friends. Once we hit late September, the mountain passes get a wee bit unpleasant for an SSR cruise.

So................who else is coming?

Didn't we look forward to the really bad ones when we were young and going to drive-ins?? That way the movie didn't interfere with being at the drive-in.
