Thumbs up NW SSR's OWN RASPBERRY FESTIVAL, LUNCH & HAY RIDE July 10th

SAVE THE DATE: Hosted by the Crabtree's, Lynden, WA Event will be the 10th of July.
Did you know that Raspberries are now harvested by machines??? Here's your chance to learn about the world of HI-TECH farming and enjoy the "fruits" of the harvest as well! This grand invitation from Brent & Marcia promises to take up a big place in our SSR Memory books:

SCHEDULE:

11:00 AM, Meet in Lynden, WA at the Crabtree's (map to follow) for a meet n' greet with time for every SSR owner to kick tires & show off new things they've done to their trucks to individualize it.

Lunch will be served at 12:00, prepared by the Crabtree's.
Lunch will include:
HAMBURGERS
TUBE STEAKS!
POTATO SALAD
FRUIT • CHIPS
WATER • POP • JUICE
SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! CHOICE OF RASPBERRY DESSERTS, OR RASPBERRIES & ICE CREAM!

After lunch, whoever wants to, may take turns riding on the raspberry picker harvester to see how it all works!

When we are finished riding the raspberry picker, dessert will be served for everyone! After dessert we'll leave around 3:00 to tour Clarks raspberry processing plant. We'll have a HAY RIDE to the plant as there is not room to park all of our trucks.( Crabtree's will provide people to watch over the SSRs while we are gone). We will then go to a much larger raspberry processing plant. ( Maberrys) Then back to Crabtree's.
If it looks like rain on that day, we'll make adjustments like NorthWestern SSRs always do. Bring your Camera's & Appetite! Directions to follow.

RSVP on this thread before June 26th PLEASE !! (or PM tickledpink for more information)

Sincerely, Brent and Marcia

Wish I could make it. Sounds like fun, but I won't even be home from Colorado yet by then.

Put me on the list, assuming I'm welcome to join. It'll be nice to see some old friends again. The 10th should be my 5th day 'living' in the PNW.

Sounds like a grrrrreat party. Wish we could make it. Love raspberries, and Iris' sister lives in Lynden.

Our son, daughter-in-law and brand new English grandchild will be arriving from jolly old England on the 10th for a 2 week visit.

Unfortunately have a boat company dealer meeting in Knoxville that will take me away for 4 days during that time. Fortunately, they will use that time to visit relative in various parts of BC.

Different Approach

Mary and I are trying a different approach on this trip, instead of leaving home at 5am and driving 5 or 6 hours to reach the rendevous point we are driving up Friday night and staying at a motel in Ferndale, that way we won't already be exhausted by the time we get to the destination.

Last minute information

LAST MINUTE INFORMATION !!!

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: THE RASPBERRY PROCESSING PLANT REQUIRES THAT WE ALL HAVE CLOTHING ON - NO NUDITY - Not Even SEMI NUD-ity !! Don't even think of sneaking by..................

Would you please bring a LONG PAIR OF PANTS, REAL SHOES, and a LONG SLEEVED SHIRT to wear in the Plant...... It isn't because the manager doesn't want your "epithelials" on the Raspberries, it is for safety !!!

Just toss the clothes in your truck tomorrow so you don't forget !!!!

xxxooo,
susieq
