I live in Sheridan, OR a small rural town an hour southwest of Portland and 30 miles east of the Oregon Coast population 5500. Every June they have their Sheridan Days weekend of festivities. This morning I went down to the park 2 blocks from my house to check out the Car Show, I ended up entering my SSR in the show, didn't win anything but got to show off my SSR to a lot of people that did even know they existed. Then this afternoon I registered to be in the parade thru town about a 2-1/2 mile route, was lucky enough to be right behind a 1940 Chevy Coupe that was barely streetable running a big block with open headers and 14 inch wide racing slicks every couple blocks he would do a short burnout to thrill the crowds so of course I couldn't resist, I was matching him burnout for burnout right down Main Street with cops on every corner smiling and giving us the thumbs up, how often do you get to do that ? During the school year I drive a school bus for Sheridan and many of the kids along the parade route were yelling " that's my bus driver ! " Was almost as much fun as beating that new Mustang GT at the drag strip a couple months ago.

If you're talking about SMOKING the tires, not very often in So Cal . . . if cops are watching you're either charged with "exhibition speeding" or "reckless driving", the later will get you arrested on the spot and your truck impounded, depending on the mood of the cop.
However, many small town cops know everybody and its easy to spot somebody responsible enough to not let this get out of hand, so much "understanding" often occurs.

Did anyone you know take any Pic's ? I wish I could have been there.
If no pic's this time, be sure you get some next time. This would be fun to see.

Tim - Your School Bus Riders have just found their NEW HERO !!!!
Every kid will have NEW respect for you from the moment they saw you in the parade !! You have just found the magic to having the best behaved School Kiddies in the State of Oregon !!! I did the same thing while teaching Junior High for over 20 years........ One day I would drive my awesome Red Jaguar Sedan, the next day either my Silver Blue Hearse or matching nine passenger Cadillac Limousine!
