Sunday at the Beach Cruise
Sunday Afternoon Summerland Cruise
Breakfast will be available in the park until 10 AM. The Lakeside has a very nice breakfast menu in the restaurant and on the patio, and there are several other restaurants in Penticton to check out for breakfast. A list of restaurants on post 3 of the Beach Cruise thread.
The Closing and Awards ceremony will start approximately 11 AM, ending approximately 12:30.
We would invite all SSR Fanatics still at the Beach Cruise to attend the Awards Ceremonies. Unless a late registration comes in from a great distance, a Fanatic will win the Long Distance award. We are also likely to win the club participation award, and two Fanatics will win awards in the SSR category.
1:00 PM Roll out for our cruise.
1:30 PM Arrive Downtown Summerland.
The Sweet Tooth is at 13211 Victoria St.. They have great sandwiches, ice cream, smoothies and an incredible selection of cheesecakes and pies.
The Beanery Coffee Co is at 13016 Victoria St. Great sandwiches, some deserts, great selection of coffees roasted on the premises.
2:15 PM Leave downtown heading south to Canyon View Rd. Excellent view of the Kettle Valley Railway trestle.
2:30 PM Quick stop at Summerland Sweets to check out their selection of local fruit jams, jellies and fruit cubes. Great gift ideas
3:00 PM Stop at Summerland Ornamental Gardens. Beautifully manicured by local volunteers, and a view of the canyon and Kettle Valley Trestle.
Great spot for those last farewells before heading home.
I will lead those going to the Kettle Valley Railway Great Train Robbery back to the Railway Station at 3:15 so that they can be there by 3:30 for a 4 PM departure. Anyone else wanting one more short cruise is welcome to join us.
If you are a bit adventurous, like some uphill hiking and want to enjoy spectacular views, Giant’s Head park in Summerland offers an unforgettable look at the Okanagan Valley.
A map of Summerland will be supplied, along with a 2nd map with our route marked out.

I really could but she is such a frady-cat. She won't even take a Shower unless I'm Home. I'm her great protector so she tells me. All I have to do is say Babe I think I'll go to Canada for a few days. She would say OK. But I would feel Guilty for leaving her alone. See you some other time Sweety.

Have your wife fly up to Penticton Friday evening after she gets off work. Both Pacific Coastal and Air Canada fly there. You can pick her up at the airport and have a great weekend.

Penticton is expensive to fly into, but it can be done.
Alaska and Westjet fly into Kelowna for significantly lower prices. It's only a very scenic hour drive north to Kelowna.
If all this Fanatic help gets you to slip off the fence, let me know - I'm sure I can scramble up some accomodations, and eveything else can be fine tuned.
