You're invited to a pnw ssr spring tour

May 14 & 15- NCW Geologic Tour and Iron Seat RallyJoin us for a 140 mile tour which starts in Chelan and follows the “other Columbia River Channel” formed during the Great Missoula Flood. The tour starts at 1pm Saturday May 14th at Lake Chelan and takes us to Grand Coulee Dam. After a break for some sightseeing, we’ll follow the former Columbia River channel past Steam Boat Rock State Park along Banks Lake. Then on to the dramatic Dry Falls State Park where 10,000 to 15,000 years ago, flood waters flowed over a falls 3 times higher than Niagara. From there we travel along the scenic channel to Soap Lake with the not yet completed 60’ lava lamp. We’ll finish around 6 pm in Moses Lake for dinner and dine together at a very nice waterfront seafood restaurant. Because of the length of the tour, you might consider staying Saturday night at Moses Lake near I-90 before your return trip to the Seattle area Sunday morning. You may also consider staying Saturday night at Ellensburg or Wenatchee. Some of the group will return to Chelan Saturday night to complete the trip for a total of 200 miles. Contact Skeet through the SSR Fanatic email system for complete details, maps, driving instructions, motel recommendations and phone numbers. If it is projected to rain that weekend, we will cancel the tour by Wednesday May 11 as this is a top down scenic tour.

Darn I have 2 issues right now!

1/ my SSR is down right now originally to have warranty work gasket replacement on my transmission housing. They then discovered I need a new clutch plate and flywheel. This has been a re occuring problem as under warranty they replaced both at 16 k and now at 32 k it needs it again. I have contacted Sinister in Fl who is rumored to have a final solution to this problem. The repair shop will put in the parts at no extra cost once I locate the parts needed.

2/ my other hobby involves dragon boat racing and our team is racing in Rainer that week end.

Well keep me advised to any other planned events for us NW SSR's Thanks

p.s. has anyone else experienced this clutch problem?

It's the LS7 setup, as in Corvette Z06.

Part numbers:
The clutch kit is p/n 24248985
Flywheel is p/n 12571611
Slave cylinder/bearing is p/n 24237634.

I'll be doing mine one day soon though I haven't had issues like some have had. I did smoke it good getting into the garage recently....

Oh yeah, I'd like to attend this event but my current situation doesn't leave room for a commitment yet. At a minimum I think I can at least make an appearance for part of one day.

Time will tell.

WE stopped there on our way to the Oregon Coast run two years ago. Beautiful spot, hadn't been there for years.

Stayed at the Baravian Lodge. Nice place, clean, excellent full breakfast included.

Leavenworth Hotel, Motel, Resort - Bavarian Lodge

I'd recommend the Andreas Keller Restaurant- we really liked the authentic Bavarian cuisine - live music when we were there.

You might run into a couple of Fanatics who live there with more suggestions. Lots of other places to stay, and no shortage of restaurants.

Larry and Lynelle - EZ Money

Brian and Becky - SMKNSSR

Hopefully they can join us for the weekend.

NCW Spring Tour

So far there are 10 SSR's expressing interest in the tour or at least asking questions. I just sent you each a message asking you to send me your email address. The Fanatic message system limit would not let me put the complete tour info on that system. So, if you'll send me a message with your email, I'll send the tour info to you. I'd be glad to make the tour with any size group so the number doesn't matter too much. The more the merrier however!!!

I received a great idea from Double-D. He apparently knows someone who may be able to arrange a tour of the 150 car collection in Moses Lake. I've heard about it but have not seen it myself. We'll have to see what can be arranged for a time as we have a fairly full schedule on Saturday already with a 140 mile cruise plus another 180 miles for those driving from the Seattle area Saturday AM. We'll just have to see what develops.

Please mention this tour to your SSR friends as it is beautiful drive, educational and of course, always fun when SSR folks get together.

Check out the video - this is what Tom has planned for the SSR event ....

actually Skeet drives this way when Mrs. Skeet is at work !!!

YouTube - Ken Block's Gymkhana THREE, Part 2; Ultimate Playground; l'Autodrome, France

Most I hear from are planning to stay in Moses Lake Saturday night after a dinner at your great "waterfront restaurant" so the party can continue on without driving very far. Tom, will you please post the Motels you think we should choose so more will commit to the fun and make reservations !!!

Thanks Sandy...........

I'm not a Motel/Hotel customer usually, so I have NO idea what people like: ie the Roslyn Red Neck Rooster Ranch and Mouse Breeding Motel (not a GOOD CHOICE on a day that's 104 and we had to bring our own fans)........... I am in the sad process of selling my darling Hi-Lo trailer......... my motel on wheels !

I do know we all enjoy staying together, so if that is what you'd recommend to us all, let's get the info out there !!!

How nice to have a new SSR from Moses Lake - we lost Ole Yeller (Brian and Sarah (DDS)) from Moses Lake last year when they moved back to Colorado. You are guaranteed to have the time of your life when you meet this NW SSR group driving TOPLESS - wearing nothing but their PERMAGRINS !!!!!

Keep in touch for all the details from our grand LEADER Skeet (Tom) and his fabulous co-pilot, Karen !!!!

Thumbs up NCW Spring Tour Details- At Last! May 14 and 15

The North Central Washington Spring SSR Tour is really shaping up to be a great event. Tickled Pink Sue (the well known cat herder) has graciously agreed to handle the list of who might be coming and I have the details concerning the trip.

Friday Night- For those who want to come to Chelan Friday night, I suggest the Best Western Lakeside Lodge in Chelan, located on the western end of Chelan overlooking the lake and Lakeside Park, 2312 W. Woodin Avenue- I did not make any group booking as I'm not sure too many will come that early. The phone number is 509-682-4396. Let Sue know if you'll be in Chelan Friday night and we'll get together for beverages, maybe even dinner on the new Campbell's Resort deck

Saturday Breakfast- Again, let Sue know if you will be in town for breakfast and we'll see about going as a group.

Tour Starts at 1pm From Don Morse Park in Chelan, 916 W. Manson Road on the left just past the Lakeshore Drive-In. All SSR's will receive turn by turn directions for our tour plus a map. The drive is approximately 140 miles starting at Chelan and ending at Moses Lake about 5:30.

We'll pass through Mansfield after a 6 mile climb from 800' to 3,100' in elevation. On to Grand Coulee with an opportunity to take a fuel and potty break and spend about 30 minutes at a small park overlooking Grand Coulee Dam where there is a great outdoor photo display providing a history of the dam.

After traveling along Banks Lake, we'll take another break at Big Wally's in Coulee City for fuel, restrooms and a great ice cream shop. (nowhere beats Tickleberrys at Okanogan Falls, BC however! right Ray?)

The next stop is Dry Falls Overlook and the Dry Falls State Park. We'll travel along the Sun Lakes chain of lakes to Soap Lake where we will stop briefly and regroup. The last leg takes us to Moses Lake. The whole trip is a focus on the geology and geography of several former channels of the Columbia River formed during the Great Missoula Flood which formed most of Eastern Washington.

Motel Units are reserved for Saturday night at the Inn at Moses Lake, located at the eastern intersection with Highway 90 at 1745 Kittleson Road, 509-766-7000. I have 12 room reserved with a rate of $89.99. If you will book soon and we need more rooms there, we can probably reserve a few more. There is great parking for our "babies". Mention the PNW SSR Group for the rate and reserved rooms.

Dinner We have reservations at Michaels on the Lake a very nice restaurant (with great seafood, believe it or not). We have reservations for 7 pm. It's located at 910 West Broadway and I have made arrangements for a reserved parking area for SSR's only.

Sunday AM Breakfast- We'll talk about that at dinner Saturday night.

Possible Surprise Event- More later on that but if it can be arranged, I'll think you will want to take part after breafast.

What You'll See ground hogs, rabbits, deer, coyotes and 1 or 2 bears (smoke in color) and the evidence of the Great Missoula Flood that formed the area.

What you Won't See Any stop lights, Starbucks, Macy's, big green WADOT overhead exit signs or more than about 30 other vehicles.

What you'll get Fresh air, sunshine and a greater appreciation of the massive forces of nature that formed the north central park of our state as a result of the Great Missoula Flood. Oh and one more thing, a great time with your SSR friends, old and new!

I hope you can join us- Tom and Karen Walters, Skeet on the Fanatic site

Put Art and Gloria on the list. We love sightseeing in the PNW. We will have to scrub Girots to do this one as we can't do both. Sorry Sandy.

Welcome to our NW FANTASTICS !!!!

Hi Art and Gloria !

Love to have you join us for the Chelan to Coulee run with Tom & Karen !!! (It's sort of "FUN WITH DICK & JANE" when you are with the Walters!). They do an incredible job of planning for sure!

If we can keep you here in the north a bit longer, its but a few weeks to Griot's and lunch with a bunch more NW SSRs !!! Why you might want to move into our Pacific Northwest to get out of the sunshine and heat of California!!!

Please let me know when you have registered so I can note that on our FANTASTIC post !
