I'm at a loss for words and so very sad to see this post had I known I would have been there to pay my respect to Grimmye and aid Rita and her family with support in their time of need.
He was so proud of his and on a visit to his home it was so very evident. Grimmye wasn't able to attend any MI runs with us ...how I wished he could have..........prayers being sent for the family.
My deepest sympathy to Rita and the family Grimmye will be missed greatly!

Sadden to hear!
Very sorry to hear! As one diecast collector to another he will be greatly missed. He was always willing to help out with information or a spare part for my SSR collection.
Very sorry to hear this my condolences go out to his wife and family. Greg was a great Red Wings Hockey fan and we shared some posts cheering the Wings on to the Stanley Cup he will be missed.

Grimmye Will Be Missed.
I enjoyed his posts, his humor and most of all, his stories of working at GM in the auto design field.
Remember how he disliked dashboard designs that had the gauges sunk into deep tubes or McDonalds styrofoam cups as he once called them.

Rest In Peace, Grimmye...
I agree. I also remember some of his threads that were quite entertaining for his fellow Fanatics. A couple in particular come to mind like when we were trying to figure out what the heck animal was digging up his yard around his basement, running up to Shoppers Drug Mart when he asked his Candian friends to track down a medicene he had used eons ago, and how to keep the fruit from all falling to the bottom of the bowl when making jello. He was always fun even though it was evident from some of his posts that his later time was not always comfortable.
God Bless you grimmye.

I always paid attention to him being on oxygen and all as my Mom was a fighter this news brought tears to my eyes just a shock to hear you will be missed Dearly Rest in Peace.

Grimmye was my secret Santa recipient 2 years ago. I had a great time putting all his gifts together and spoke several times afterwords about the gifts and other subjects. He was defintaely a fighter and a rock solid American. I will miss you Greg, and give Grimmye a big ol hug; I'm sure his tail is wagging at 8000 RPM's right about now.
I'm sad to hear the news about Grimmye. I did not get the chance to meet him in person, but he reached out to me when I was needing prayers for my mom. I hope he is resting in peace with his buddy right by his side! My thoughts and prayers go out to Rita and the rest of his family!! May God give you the strength you need to get through this difficult time!!
I've been missing for awhile so I'm just hearing about my Ole Buddy Grimmye.
He was a really nice guy. I helped him with his choice of Power Inverter to plug in to his SSR. So he could run his Oxygen Equipment while Driving down the Road.
Being missed...yes he will be sorely missed, but not just missed... His vast knowledge, his entertaining posts, his heartfelt comments... We all will be worse off without him.
I pray for his family, as they will feel the loss the worst. For Rita, this will be devestating, as she and Grimm spent so much time...
Prayers for Rita and the family. And yes I'm sure he has already taken time to spend some time with Grimmey, a little pet, a treat, a hug... and they will walk thru the golden streets together.

Like loosing a dancing partner. We will never find another whose steps were in sync with ours as his were. But he will no longer trip on those tubes and cords...
After all these years on the forum your true enthusiam for cars in general and the SSR were very effident and I pray that your family finds strenght and comfort in your memory
You will be missed

I spoke with Rita this morning and was told that a service for Grimmye has not been done yet......son will be retuning back from Indonesia for the final plans to be made. I asked Rita to contact me when all final arrangements have been made so I can pay respects from our group and myself to a wonderful man! Rita did say that Grimmye's last year was a difficult one.......meeting them only once Rita said that he has the SSR Poster you gave him hanging on the wall and that he loved this site so
Grimmye was on everyone's mind last night...............
At last nights dinner.....for the WDC this year we are paying tribute to Grimmye doing a drive by his home before cruising Woodward on Friday.

I love the idea but credit goes to Marty as it was his idea....I would like if Rita will allow me to do so.....place a very small model that I have with Grimmye in his final resting place.
