I'm sure she would love that too... I don't think she realized how much we had grown to love our friend grimmye, Gregory. Thanks for being such a wonderful ambassador for the gang. (Marty too!)

I spoke with Rita this morning and was told that a service for Grimmye has not been done yet......son will be retuning back from Indonesia for the final plans to be made. I asked Rita to contact me when all final arrangements have been made so I can pay respects from our group and myself to a wonderful man! Rita did say that Grimmye's last year was a difficult one.......meeting them only once Rita said that he has the SSR Poster you gave him hanging on the wall and that he loved this site so
Grimmye was on everyone's mind last night...............
At last nights dinner.....for the WDC this year we are paying tribute to Grimmye doing a drive by his home before cruising Woodward on Friday.
I would Love to be there with you all. I will be thinking of, all of you.
My prayers are with Rita and her family. This is so sad, through my father's illness I have had the oppertunity to meet so many wonderful people on this site. Grimmye was one of them and will be missed. Kim
Though thousands of miles separate us, the things that connect us are our passion for our SSRs and the fellowship we share with other SSR owners....
That's what brought Hawaiianfun (Ray) and AKWARES (Ron) together in paradise on earth on Oahu today, where we raised our glasses in a toast to Grimmye, saluting him for all he meant to his family, friends and the SSR Fanatics.
Although we mourn his passing, and our deepest sympathies go out to his family, deep in our hearts, we know he is now blissfully cruising down a highway paved in gold, in eternal paradise, in the perfect ride, the SSR!
Here's to you, Grimmye, may the road ahead be smooth, and the wind be at your back!
Thanks so much for making yesterday possible and for inviting me to the great BBQ with your friend Frank and his family. It was great meeting you, your wife, and your friends. My son Sasha and I had a great time!
I decided to hold back a little as I left yesterday, I didn't want to leave skid marks in front of Franks house and get him in trouble with 5-0 later!
Enjoy the rest of your stay here and hopefully we'll meet again someday!

I have not been on the forum for a while - very very sorry to hear about Grimmye's passing. My prayers go out to his family. He will be missed on this forum.
I don't know how I missed this one. Rita, I hope you know he was missed by us all. I know he had a whole bunch of ideas in his mind. we spoke about a few of them once!
He had a great history at GM.
My name is Aaron Warren, and I am the Great Nephew of Greg "Skunkle" Cenzer or grimmye as known to the SSR forum. His wife Rita is my Grandmother's Sister.
On behalf of the family, I would like to offer up a most sincere thanks for all of the well wishes and comments about my Uncle.
I gained a great deal of my passion for automobiles and the automobile hobby from him. Growing up, he exposed me to the hobby through his ecclectic collection of autos. His encouragement lead me to pursue a career in the automotive industry.
As a result of his passing, and my own personal interests in all things automotive, I have decided to take to blogging, and am in the process of writing the first entry for an automotive blog dedicated to his memory and to the passion for cars that we shared.
He really was a great man, as you may have already known. His knowledge of so many topics, and warm nature will be missed by us all. For those of you who had the chance to meet him in person, you can probably attest to this! His sense of humor was unique to say the least. Growing up, I think a good deal of it was imprinted on me!
The story (of sorts) behind his SSR acquisition was the result of his illiness. he had a pachant for english sportscars, having had literally dozens of vintage MGs, Triumphs, Healys, and Rovers over the years. His breathing difficulties required him to carry with him an oxygen generator which was simply too large to fit into a little roadster, and made it nearly impossible to change gears manually. He sold off his (at the time) MGB GT and Rover P6 3500 and bought the SSR which brought him back to the world of enjoyable motoring.
Over the past few years, I was greatly saddened to see him decline to the point of a lessening coorespondence frequency. Our daily e-mails graddually became less and less frequent. When I saw him last spring, his condition was so poor, his ability to speak without loosing breath was very difficult. Considering this was a man with whom I spent hours upon hours talking to on so many topics, this was a difficult reality.
Over the past several months, his health was in steep decline, to the point that it was extremely difficult for him to even leave the house. A true tregedy for one who loved life so much.
My Fiance and I were in the middle of moving to a new home when my Grandmother informed me that he was in the hospital, and it wasn't looking good. She indicated that his only Son was en-route. Skunkle held on for about 20 minutes or so after his Son arrived before he let go, and went in peace to the great motorway in the sky.
When I received the call of his passing, I was in the process of packing my office, and held in my hand Thomas French's Engineering Drawing book that he had given me on my 10th birthday so many years ago. Needless to say, the irony was profound, and I couldn't help but break down.
The saddness his passing brings will not last as the fondest memories of my life will always be with me. Every time so much look at a car, sip a fine scotch, or smell a pipe-smoke, I'll be reminded of my Uncle Skunkle!
We'll miss him dearly!
Sincerest thanks and regards to all his friends,
Aaron Warren
P.S. On a side note, the latest news is that a memorial service may be planned for the fall. I will be sure to pop back in with an update as soon as I have more information.

I received a pm today from Aaron, Greg's nephew and he wanted to share this with you...
Hello,
I'm profoundly saddened to report that my Great Aunt, and the wife of the lage Greg Cenzer, Rita passed away this morning at their home in Warren, MI.
It's my beleif that she died of a broken heart since the passing of my uncle...
She was found this morning by her younger brother, my other Great Uncle, David after missing a Dr's appointment this morning. There was no suffering, she just collapsed, and died.
The lose of Greg back in June, and now this has proven very difficult for us all in the family, and for their many friends.
Greg and Rita had but one Son, Matthew, and his wife Michele. They have no children. Greg and Rita had a large extended family by virtue of their siblings, my Grandmother, Victoria, and Great Uncle David. David has two children Brian, and Steven that were as close to Grandchildren as Rita and Greg had, aside from myself.
All in all, the passing of these two wonderful people is profoundly saddening to us all. If you will, please get the word out (Uncle Skunkle to the family) about Rita's passing as well. Arrangments have yet to me made. I will be sure to keep you in the loop as I learn more.
Sincerest regards,
Aaron Warren
God Bless Greg and Rita, together forever. I would like to send my condolences to the family. You all are in my prayers. I hope it is some comfort to you all knowing that they are together in a better place. Thank-you for sharing them with us. We will not forget them.
