Our friend Steve Fenner (Support Tech) just lost his dad. It was not a surprise, but certainly a day he didn't want to see arrive.
Steve went home to Australia about six weeks ago to visit and his dad. Steve knew there wasn't a lot of time left. His dad had a heart attack the day before Steve left to go back to Saskatchewan. The doctors at the Hospital told Steve that his dad would not be coming home...... mighty tough, buddy.
My heart is incredibly heavy for Steve. Our fathers are the heroes of our childhood and they give us so much of the adult ethics we hold firm.
Attached are the two notes that Steve forwarded to me this morning.
Our deepest regrets,
Mike & Debbie

It really stinks to lose a parent, especially before the "Holidays", but there never really is a good time for it to happen. Such is life. We are born, we live, and we pass on. It's best to make the most of the time you have, because you never know how long it will last.
I lost my father 5 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't think of him. It will be tough for you, in the beginning, but as time goes on it will get better. Keep in mind that your extended family feels your sorry and shares your pain. God Bless.
