Bummed?....I'm frkn used to it. I'm seasoned. Our team is not exactly ESPN grade. Will will not be at the Mohegan Sun Casino. We will not be doing a demo trick shot video. What we can offer is a lesson in How To Lose gracefully. We have the chemistry.

Now that is dang Funny! One of the funniest statements I've heard you say. You are a funny Guy!
Inspection PAP. I'm sitting here waiting for Greg's R to get inspected. In the waiting area "Magic Carpet Ride' came on the radio. How cool is that! It reminded me of the R commercial! It's always been one of my favorite songs.

I wish they would instate safety inspections here. They "kinda" do. When you buy a used vehicle, it must be inspected before the state will let the registration and titling to be completed, then never again as long as you own it. If you buy a vehicle new -- you never have to get it inspected. In PA, you could not have any lamp lenses broken - even working lamps didn't count. You couldn't have tires that stick out beyond the top lip of the fender flare. You can't have holes in your exhaust. You can't have holes in the body that would let said exhaust into the passenger compartment. Tires, brakes, suspension... all get a check -anything worn beyond serviceable levels are flagged and inspection fails. Not saying non-compliant cars weren't passed... there are quite a few shady garages that would, um, do favors. Down here, people are driving cars with things constantly going bad. Headlights burn out? No problem, you still have your high beams. Tail lights not work? You don't need 'em to see the road... who cares. Windows broken and covered with multiple layers of duct tape? Not a problem. Bumpers missing? no problem there either. Wanna bet these people don't have insurance?
But.... MD does have emissions tests - every 2 years. So we care about the environment, not other driver's and pedestrian's safety.
Quite frankly, I don't know why it's not mandated at the national level (the level of inspection would still be controlled at the state level). A vehicle that is "legal" in one state because there are no safety standards after the sale would be illegal the instant it crosses a state line. If the feds regulate and require the same safety inspections for every truck, airplane, train or ship no matter where it "resides" in the US... why not for passenger cars too?
Oh..... and about police pulling a vehicle over for safety infractions? Really???? You ever see that? We have so many "profiling" lawsuits around here that they basically stopped doing traffic stops unless someone does something highly dangerous. (They love their radar photo speed traps here!)
