Take my advice . . . call a professional. NOT WORTH THE RISK.

I got stung by a ground nesting wasp (not a yellow jacket) 2 summers ago (they made a nest under one of those stumps you saw in my picture). One sting and my hand swelled up like a balloon! Took nearly 2 weeks to return to normal. Fortunately, it was on the left hand, otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to write at all.
My only goal right now is to get at the wall on the inside of the garage and seal up any openings they are using. I can use the expanding foam to close them off. Then I have two options. 1 - call a professional, or 2 - wait until winter when most of them die off and rip the wall apart when it's 30-40 degrees out and they can't move. I'm going to need to rip the wall apart no matter what anyway to clear out the remains and seal it up so they can't return next year.

Oh, and I'm in the suburbs. I'd upload a picture, but since I'm at work, I don't have access to them. I can link to this one from the pictures of the damage from Isabel back in '03:
The tree on the left is the one that was cut down. The hive is in the back wall you see just behind those 2 trash cans (which aren't there now)
yellow jackets are good... they eat web worms in the trees

4th morning.
Maybe the signature cat likes syrup.
I'd be more worrieed about Gina's beach bird kicking sand onto RC's pancakes.

Good morning America ... Still having this low coastal marine layer. Temp is in the high 60's/low 70's. Guess I shouldn't complain about it.
