The vast majority of them are darned near the same. Only a few brands of engines out there, and that's all the things are - an engine with a sharp propeller on the underside. Buy the one from someone that will stand behind it with a good warranty and support program.

My mower started acting up last year. I have a sears Craftsman. I could not get the darn thing started and broke the blasted pull cord. Got that fixed, but the only way I could get it running was to give it a blast of starting fluid. After that it ran fine. I'm convinced it was dirt in the carb as it seemed to be fine by the next time I had to cut the lawn. I'll probably have to have it rebuilt though as it'll probably happen again this year.
I did not add the gasoline additive he sold me but it is hard to believe the engine is that sensitive. Oh well, I will give it a try this afternoon.

End of Work PAP

Time to go home.

Oh wait.. I'm already there! I should do this more often. I got a lot done today, and didn't have the stresses of people constantly barraging me with crap.

I always ran mine dry at the end of the season. Or I started it once a month if I left gas in the tank.

When I was self employed it was fun to tease the employed people at the racquetbball club by saying I had to leave to attend a staff meeting.

PAP N' just to say why don’t you all just hire a gardener for $40-$80 a month. That way you’ll have more free time for yourself.
My Dad did the yard work every weekend until he got to mid 70’s and finally hired a gardener and he told me that the best thing he ever did as he could set back and enjoy a cold drink or spent more time golfing with his buddies.

I will probably do that if I follow through with a house up in PA (won't be here in MD on the weekends anymore), but I don't have that much to take care of.

Sears Every year I call them and they come out and service the Tiller and the riding mower cost about 100.00 that includes sharpening the blades

they are that sensitive ...leave a woman stored in the cold for that long and she either not start, or quit.....just a drop of water in the fuel system and you can crank all day and she wont start......clean air filter helps too
