Dannys off today, its weird havin him around the house on a weekeday, he is on my nerves already. He has already cooked sausage and splashed grease all over the kitchen, now he is in front of the TV blarin it at high volume. I think I will take advantage of him being at home and go shop a little this mornin. We wont get busy until about noon.
Took the pups out on a run in an open field, went to Valero to find some toothpaste. Got a call from Mary, the battery is dead in the Suburban. I can't help her and we have emergency roadside, so I hope the battery will renew itself. I am about ready to hit the sack for a pre noon nap.
The sun has been out for three weeks here in Texas. Saw some really nicely planted corn fields dying for lack of water. Acres and acres of corn, done. Can't even use it for silage,l too dry.
Let's celebrate. Hop into the Elky and let's roll.
Still haven't got plates. I finally got the right form from the folks (dealer) I got it from. I'm just glad I didn't have to make a trip in person (nearly 300 miles away).

I just got done with a clay bar on mine. I started doing a quick surface detail on it this morning and it felt like sand paper! Smooth as glass now. Now I need to reseal the paint.

That is something I need to do as well. Sorry you reminded me.
Clay bar BUT plates are related to registration which is related to vehicle inspection here in Texas. The Suburban did not have a current inspection sticker so it had to be done at the last minute. Passed A+.

As strange as this sounds, I wish Maryland had an active safety inspection program. The only time a car is required to be inspected is when it's sold used to another party. I suspect that a large percentage are fraudulent because the dealers do the inspections and registration for the purchasers. Who's to say that they actually did the inspection and didn't just fill out the paperwork?
My Silverado has only ever been inspected once (I bought it used at just over 1 year old) by the selling dealership and my SSR has never been inspected because I bought it new. I'm not really worried about my own vehicles (I maintain them properly), but there are hundreds out there that I know have minor and major safety infractions. Burned out lights are just the minor ones. I see used cars with temporary tags that should not legally pass safety inspection all the time.
I haven't got one. Good thing really - it'd never get the maintenance it needs.
I'm heading back out to refill the oil on the Elky. I changed the oil yesterday and it was black. I ran it for about 30 minutes (with some Sea Foam added) and am changing it again. This time it was dark brown but still translucent.
