1965 Chevy Commercial (A Classic)

Ahhh, Nostalgia .......................

1965 Chevy Commercials - From the old days when GM actually made cars.
How times have changed.
For all you motorheads, this is a flashback to the way we used to hear about new cars.
If you are under 40, you may not have any idea who all these people are.

You fix good, kemo saby! We didn't really watch 5 minute ads did we? I do not recall the Corvair as a 4 door. Of the seven featured actors only Pernel Roberts (80) and Robert Vaugh (77) still live today. Dan Blocker (1972), Agnes Moorehead (1975), Lorne Greene (1987), Michael Landon (1991) and Elizabeth Montgomery (1995) all passed.

Corvair was available as a coupe, convertible, and sedan.

My mom had a corvair back in the 60s. My dad traded it in on a Mercedes (which ended up being my first car).

There was the 500 (95 hp), Monza (110 hp), and Corsa (140 hp, or turbocharged 180 hp). The turbos were a lot of fun. I had a 1964 Monza convertible with a 140 hp motor that was our honeymoon car, and a lot of fun, too.

Corvair also came in a station wagon. I traded my father-in-law a $25 Sony reel to reel tape deck (play only) for a 1961 Corvair station wagon. Got so tired of putting the fan belt back on the engine cooling fan that I eventually traded it in on a brand new Ford Maverick. Boy, I'm getting OLD!

Thanks for the memories; great add; my first car after Viet Nam was a Yellow 65 Impala SS; bought it for $1100; drove directly to a speed shop and put on Cragar's with new rubber; another of my old cars I would love to have now. Even had a fuel economy gauge in the center consule; way before it's time. Lowered of course; organ pipe speakers on rear with shag; anyone remember them?
