Last day to upload your photo into our calendar contest!
****** UPDATE 11/07/10 ****
We're still in the final stages of proofing, but here's a shot of the front and back cover (back cover shows the rest of the winners). As soon as we finalize, we'll send emails to the winners so we can arrange sending them their free copies. Shouldn't be too much longer...

The loyal members of ssrfanatic.com are invited to be a part of The 2011 Official Chevrolet SSR Calendar competition. Show off your ride for ultimate bragging rights.
The top 13 vote winners will receive 2 calendars featuring their cars, absolutely free. Only photos directly submitted to membercalendars.com will be entered into the competition. All calendars are proudly MADE IN THE USA!
The 2006 SSR calendar created by Step Printing was the first one licensed by GM..... It featured photos of SSRs belonging to 13 individual Fanatics and several shots of multiple SSRs, photos of the prototype truck and a collage of photos from the 2005 WDC. These calendars were produced in Anaheim and were the first successful GM recognition of our group. GM allowed use of the registerd trademarks, logos and photographs.
Sorry to be so detail oriented, but Joe and Lori Davis worked really hard to get the approval from GM......... and it was not cheap.
I'm not intending to hijack this thread.... just need to be sure that the first one is rememebered. Thanks.
Mike- For sure! We did not mean to offend anyone. We know first hand what Joe and Lori must of had to do, so kudos to them! That calendar sounds really cool, we hope this one lives up to the 2006 one. GM has approved us to do this as well, and should be alot of fun. Hope to see you participate.

No offense taken.
A few questions......
What theme are you looking for? We've had a number of great theme calendars.
What backdrops are you seeking?
Are you looking for detail close-ups and creative shots?
Are you looking for flames and custom paint?
Are you looking for stock colors? (There are 14 different colors / combinations)
Are you looking for action photos, group photos, caravan photos, etc.......?
You get my drift......
Also curious about who owns the rights to the photos once they're sent in..... not that it makes much difference, but we are a little protective of our babies......
To answer your questions, we are basically trying to make a SSR calendar created and voted on by the REAL enthusiasts, but something that the public would like as well. There are many enthusiasts (that just haven't caught on to the internet and forums yet) that love SSR's but can't find a calendar to buy for them.
-So we definitley want creative shots and backgrounds. Close-ups, distance shots, are all encouraged. The voters will choose what catches their eyes!
-No theme necessarily, we want the SSR fanatics to do what they think looks good. Just have to keep all pictures clean.
-Any colors, flames, etc. This is NOT a stock image calendar nor do we want it do be, so we encourage you to show off a cool custom paint job!
- action photos and group photos are all great as long as they are your picture.
And to answer your last question, we totally get that you and others are protective of your babies. In order to participate in our contest, when you choose to upload a picture onto our website, you must sign off on the rights to that image. We hope that the winning images will be all over the nation come winter though!!!
Good luck, let us know if we can answer any other questions or help out in anyway.
Mike- Sorry for any confusion. Our contest is a competition that is open to the public. We have this contest open to SSRfanatic.com members as well as any and all other SSR enthusiasts out there.

Good luck!!! Let's see some nice SSR's!!
I think what Mike is asking is are you going to print out the words "SSR Fanatic.com" on the calender so others will learn about us..
RUN ROD RUN- Yes. The words SSRFanatic.com will definitley be on the calendar. There will be a special thanks section displayed on the rear cover of the calendars, with all participating forum names. We absolutley want others to learn about this community.
In all fairness, Mike asked if it would be plugged all over the calendar. That it won't. The title of this calendar is 2011 Chevrolet SSR Calendar.
Hope that answers your question. The countdown beings T minus 5 days!

I have a consern with this line in your user agreement:
You further agree that you do hereby assign to the Company all Intellectual Property Rights in and to any photograph uploaded to the Website and which said photograph shall hereinafter be the sole and exclusive property of the Company (the “Assignment”). In connection with the Assignment, you acknowledge that as the exclusive owner of all Intellectual Property Rights in and to any photograph uploaded by you, the Company shall be able to utilize that photograph within a calendar printed, sold and distributed by the Company (a “calendar”) and further, that the Company shall exercise all derivative rights accessory to the ownership of all Intellectual Property Rights in and to the photograph.
I would perfer to retain the intellectual rights to my photo. I would like to do other things with the photo as well. Print posters for myself, put on my website, etc etc. Your agreement would be better if it was exclusive commercial right for a specific about of time. Like the date of the calendar for example.

Hey Jim (If I may be so bold to call you by your first name...),
This has come up on some of the other forums, and we completely understand your concern. While it is a lot of boiler plate that sounds a bit intimidating, we had to have this language in the contract per GM. We must sign over the rights to them simply so they aren't liable in cases where someone sues for using their image. Its the only way we could do it, it's pretty standard in licensing.
I can tell you that we are only using this for our calendar contest and we will not hold anyone back from or even try to come after someone if they want to continue using their photo for their purposes.
It really is just protection for us and GM, thats it. We understand if you don't want to participate, really. All I can do is ask that you understand what this is for and do upload a photo. We're car guys, just like you. We want to be successful and try to make something that people want. Thanks for listening and if you decide to upload, good luck. Either way, thanks for asking so we could have this opportunity to explain our side.
