Wow. What a great contest. There were a lot of beautiful trucks. I got a lot of satisfaction building my model and I can't believe I get to pick a prize.
Makes me want to build another one.

My prize selection is the handcrafted SSR Pen by Jgrden. What a honour to have a prize made by a fellow fanatic.

Rebel, thank you for organizing this contest.

Da Dod Ta Da

DA DOD TA DA …… Announcement

Next year our very own Mr. Jgrden will be model contest Captain in charge.

He was first to step up with a prize offer and has been energetic all along the build this year … till he laid down for some little heart thing for a while.

And he paid off his prize with not one pen but two pens to the winner.

Above and beyond performance John.

He will make a great Captain!

I've had that run thru my mind, what with all the folks whining about their hot palm when the tops down and the suns up!!!! But I don't have a 6 speed shifter ball If anyone has an extra they can mail me I'll work on stitching one up. The trick is to be able to mail just the leather and then have the recipient cover their own ball . It would be cool if I could tool it with a little SSR. But the trick is to mount it
There's more pictures of the tailgate leather in My Gallery

Rebel, hope you don't mind a quick hijack of your thread.

I have a ball cover, (yes, the leather one), but it is so valuable I don't trust sending it by mail!

I will try to remember to bring it to our next SSR gathering. Here is what it looks like and I can take some measurements if that will help.

I have seen pictures of that before, the one that came with the truck right? So Steve, is it only used when you're parked? Because it looks like it would slide off very easily. So perhaps just for a sun shade while you're stopped.
I was thinking of something that went lower on the ball, to stay in place all the time. But it would have to have some areas of stretchability for the owner to slide it over. Nice and tight, no slippage.
I would need the actual ball in order to make one. I could tool an SSR on the top area and then sew it to a colour keyed lower piece/s.

Secondly, I noticed in that picture that Classic Embroidery was on the cap. Is this something that you do?

To be honest, I've never used it and I wouldn't drive with it on. I like my balls bare! I usually just put my hat over the stick shift.

Not yet, but I am checking the mail everyday. Can't wait to see it!

It's not something I do but my wife does embroider, (I have a bathrobe and shirts to show for it). I got this hat at the Penticton Car Show. Another fanatic had a trunk full of hats she gave away during the wine tour.
